I wear contacts. Have for years.
If you wear glasses now, wait until you get the contacts! Having peripheral vision again will take getting used to. The ability to not-fog (mesh) is really something cool.
Being able to wear sunglasses....
But yeah, as far as getting used to them; it's a steep curve, but is over on day 2. Your eyeball has a layer of skin over it (a thick one). You can actually pinch your eyeball skin like the skin on the back of your hand (yeah, it hurts). So once you get accostomed to putting your finger on your eyeball, it's all downhill. Mind over matter.
I recommend the soft disposable type. In fact, you can even get daily disposables. Wear 'em once, and toss 'em. Each day is a new pair, and there ain't nothin' better than a fresh pair of contacts. The daily dispaosables will cost you about a buck-a-day to wear.
It's a better life with contacts. Come on over to the light....
