there is a diffrence between "extra work" and "stuntwork", this is a mix of the two.
i for one am really glad a reputable station like NG would approach us. we, for one look 100% better than any extra pulled from a agency, to do milsim for the camera. also the production company does not have to spend any of the budget on props/wardrobe, because we already have most of the gear. our movements will not look retarded, and you will not see gangsta looking shooting or inaccurate SOP's.


having this contact is a good thing matt, bill, and others.... a very good thing.

I believe I watched the storyline behind this on Dateline NBC - they were going over what happened with survivors, and asking the gov why communications went so wrong between the commanders in charge of the operation (There were 2 instead of the normal single command) and they had footage of a UAV that flew over the firefight while it was in progress between the downed crew and the Taliban.
One of the survivors of the mission showed his wife what was going on during a real time playback of what happened and she sat shocked to see what the entire crew had gone through.
Nice job guys! It must feel pretty good to relive a part of history like this

My personal experience was every thing but sitting around. I spent a good majority of both days getting thrashed. I spent both days running up and down a mountain at 7000ft in 80 degree weather in full gear.

I am still cleaning sand and ash and small rocks out of my ears from having buckets of it dumped on me to simulate mortars landing nearby. I'm just thankful we had the night shoot, after seeing Beran's face falling off from the sunburn. Don't get me wrong, night was cold as hell, and the snow that somehow manages to stick around during the really warm days turns to a sheet of ice after the sun goes down. THEN we were jumping out of the helicopter onto it. Ow.

I'd do it all over again for half as much money, though.
