Operation Overlord was the codename for the Allied invasion of northwest Europe, which began on June 6, 1944, and ended on August 19, 1944, when the Allies crossed the River Seine. Over sixty years later, the Normandy invasion still remains the largest sea borne invasion in history, involving almost three million troops crossing the English Channel from England to Normandy. Operation Neptune was the codename given to the initial assault phase of Operation Overlord; its mission, to gain a foothold on the continent, started on June 6, 1944 (most commonly known by the name D-Day) and ended on June 30, 1944

Utah was the codename for one of the Allied landing beaches during the D-Day invasion of Normandy, as part of Operation Overlord on 6 June 1944. Utah was added to the invasion plan towards the end of the planning stages, when more landing craft became available. Despite being substantially off course, the U.S. 4th Infantry Division landed there with relatively little resistance, in contrast to Omaha Beach where the fighting was fierce. Utah beach, about three miles long, was the westernmost of the five landing beaches, located between Pouppeville and La Madeleine.

Overview of Operation Overlord

Location:

North Field, with the palettes of concrete blocks near the dorms being the sea wall. THERE WILL BE GUN EMPLACMENTS EVERY WHERE.

Image
Utah Beach

Objectives:

US Forces: 4th ID- To land, hold beachhead, and destroy gun emplacements. 101st-destroy the artillery enplacments to open the beach up for 4th ID.

German Forces: To repel the attack.

French resistance: Choose your allies and enemys wisely.

Artillery/Weapons:

US Forces: Medics (more about that in a minute) some people can be designated as carrying Flamethrowers (rucksack). If US can get a flamethrower In the same area as a gun emplacement then the gun is out of commission.

German Forces: Artillery barrage once every 2 mins. Untill the
miss-droped 101st can destroy the artilery emplacments.

LCVP’s aka Higgins Boats

Respawn’s will work like this:

US will fall back a to the ship and will have to wait for a group of five to move out together (simulates the boat ride), also some people will be designated Medic’s. If you die and a Medic is nearby they can come and respawn you in place by patching you. Unlimited respawns for US.

German Forces will have a set number of respawns.

Phase one: OPERATION NEPTUNE:UTAH BEACH-101st find and destroy
ost bat. artillery, to help 4th ID take beach head.
Phase two: locate intell on current German defence plans.
phase three: German counter attack.
phase four: Objective XYZ
