Think of it as time trials in Olympic sports. Whatever time you finish at is the base point. Then, the judges look at how many violations you had, and each violation has a time amount attributed to it. The judges then add this to your base time, and you get your final time. Basically it is the same as doing a point system, but using seconds rather than points. So your team finishes in 2 minutes. That is 120 seconds. You muzzle sweep three guys and kill a hostage. Just for example sake, each muzzle sweep adds 10 seconds, and the hostage kill gets you 50 seconds. This puts your score at 200 seconds. A team that took 3 minutes (180 seconds), but only muzzle swept one guy, would technically beat you, because their end time would be 190 seconds.
