The new Fort Lewis MOUT facility is awesome, but they're really protective of it. With how much $$$ they spent on it, I don't blame them.

I've seen some pictures and computer graphics showing the MOUT facility at Ft. Lewis... it looks amazing. They took the MOUT facilities at Ft. Knox and Ft. Campbell... injected some steroids and made it one huge place.

The purpose was to have a place where Stryker's could move in an urban training environment. I don't blame them for wanting to make sure no one screws with their huge investment. All we need is for an airsoft enthusiast to win the lottery and build us our own MOUT facility. :D

I have been to several MOUT facilities during my Military career. Zussman is just like any other facility.

Have the team put up the money? Some of us work two jobs dude. You willing to pay for 4 days worth of lost wages for me? How about you drop 520 bucks and come out here for an event there hero. In case you are struggling with the math; 250 dollar airplane ticket, 100 bucks for food, 150 for a rental car and 20 bucks for the event..... 20 bucks!?

Seagreen wrote:Ya Capt, APST went to LC3. A couple of the guys had been to LC1 and 2. Said that LC3 really was piss poor in comparison. So, really we may have just gotten the wrong event.

There were a few factors that made me think about how good this event could be:

-Limited if any field marshalling
-Mistakes with game administration (changes on the fly and misdrops of companies)
-Cow Pasture.....nothing improved..just a cow pasture.

Admittedly, I did get to speak with Mr. McKnight for a bit. He is a very pleasant guy. So, my time spent wasn't wasted.

To break it down for those of you who do not know: LC is a force on force battle that was the first of its kind in North America...large numbers and high profile leadership. A cool concept, but not worth the price of admission.

Should everyone go once? Sure. It'll make you appreciate or expect more from your local event promoters once you get back.

Thanks for the comments guys, yeah LC3 was not like the first two for sure, LC4&5 were much better. Like any large size series of events, they have there growing pains & flaws that go with it. With each event, you learn something new and better hopefully. Like you you said, at least go once. This is a flagship event and helps other large scale events thrive for sure. I am sure the next Solomon Pass will grow to the next step and be better than the one this past March.

Events such a Border Wars 2007 http://www.airsoftpacific.com/viewtopic ... +wars+2007 learned from these events and use the mistakes you mentioned to make sure there event goes smoothly. LC6 will still have it flaws because of the shear size of 500+ airsofters, but it should be kick a$$ this time around. My inside sources gave me some good insight, to bad i will have to pass this up for a good cause. I gave up my spot to another buddy from Texas and he is heading up with 10 guys thursday. I have coneected them up with my buddies from Colorado also (30 guys) that they can connect with during the event :beltfed:

I look forward to seeing video of CQC6, once its done :D

Lion Claws will likely be MUCH different this year, more roleplaying and 'milsim' than your average airsoft game (two teams, they both shoot at eachother).

It will still likely be a giant clusterfuck in some ways (imagine trying to control 500 people with an all-volunteer staff).

Some of Battlesim is going down, I am eager to hear how it went.

First of all, I don't appreciate your tone. I am on the west coast all the time, so I would love to go to an event in Oregon. But I couldn't justify a trip to Oregon just for airsoft, not because of the money, but because other than CQC... what makes it any different than any other op?

I work a couple jobs too (one is seasonal) and go to school full time. I have been able to go to those events. If it is something you want to do, save the money and do it. Airsoft has never been a cheap hobby. The four guys I took to Irene had to put up $500 combined to make the trip... obviously coming from the West Coast is tougher than the midwest, but there are cheap ways to do things. Even working. One truck, gear, we camped there... brought our own food. Only expensive part was the op.

And yes, Zussman is just like any other facility... but it is the only facility of its kind available to airsofters... so while your military career may have allowed for seeing plenty of amazing facilities, that doesn't help people that want to play airsoft in them.

I am not concerned with how you handle my tone. If none of our guys want to sell off a kidney to go to a game 900 or 2000 miles away so be it. Some of us are fathers, some are students, some are military, and some have jobs in Law Enforcement ect- if its not happening, its not happening. Get over it.

It isn't like I am telling you to go or you are a lesser person. I could care less, I have been there once, I won't go back. It was more of a learning experience. But it is something that really gets the wheels turning in your head to make an airsoft op. Like I said, I could care less.

This is what I hear too, a friend of mine had been to LC1 and 2, said it was quite different. I do know that at LC3 it was the first time they had used that field. Sometimes OPs get better after organizers get a better handle on a field.
