FWIW, Swedish WWII era wool is cheap and easy to come by. And its a decent stand in for German wool (but doesnt really look right at the same time).

American impressions are definately cheaper to anyone who is interested. You could definately put together a decent loadout for under $100.

I'm still working on my Vietnam loadout. Childs, do you still have that Bren-pouch? I finally found a really solid Thompson, and I'm going to see if Grandpa wants to talk about Vietnam at all. He really hasn't talked about it much, until recently. I know before I left he was telling me stories about his time in Army Intel.

But first, a M1956 rig. and T/S.

The King Of al-Talk. Hey, at least I'm not a troll.

My dog wouldn't know what to do with a duck if she caught it, but she's cute. And hates Mexicans. +1!

Thoma, I can help you there. I've got a bunch of photos of the 2-162 on Biak in May and June of '44. This was the battle that caused the 41st ID's C/O to resign, and 2-162 and a battalion from the 163rd suffered very heavy losses.

The photos show that some of the men were wearing a very camoflauge. I don't know what it was, but it looked similar to the marine camo that came into use in time for Tarawa. General Fuller himself wore a set on Biak.

Let me know and I'll fire those photos to you.

If you're going to go to war against a major enemy, go; knock the hell out of him fast, and go in there to kill him and get it over with.

Thank you sir! I take back everything rotten I've said about you, except for the story about you, the cheesecake, a can of sardines, and 3 dead hookers.

First try at a photo, but here's a good shot of the 41st's camo fatigues at Biak.
