WWII Airsoft

Postby Pope_Alex_Kaeda_I » Thu Mar 15, 2007 1:52 pm

Junto and I have been working on a WWII German Airsoft Unit, mostly to consolidate 'our' members for if/when we go to Battlesim's WWII events - what we're calling SS-PanzerSturmKampfgruppe Weicheluft. Due to, what I consider interest in American WWII weapons (as evidenced by the recent posts about VFC's upcoming BAR release, and rumours of an M1A1 release), I would like to half 'announce our existence', and half invite interested people to contact me (or form their own 'Allied' teams - Americans, British, Canadians, Polish, Partisan French, etc . . . . ) so that we can have some WWII games of our own down here.

I'll try to post our .pdf format Informational Handout sheet in the next couple days. SS-PSKG Weicheluft is not a political organization, we are a fictional unit that has not been convicted of any warcrimes, and confess to being more than just a little 'Farby' - however, I do intend to push anyone who joins into being as historically accurate as possible (as in, I do intend to follow the 3 photograph rule). This is not a 'full time unit', and do not intend to attend conventional airsoft games as a unit.

'Announcement of a semi-planned WWII Airsoft Event. I do not have a date planned yet for this event (as I don't have enough WWII Germans, or Allied forces in the area - yet)

"Nevada Smith and the Sword of Odin" - An American Archaeologist and Allied force must race against a German Archaeologist, and his supporting troops to locate an ancient Viking sword hidden in the mountains of Norway in 1944.

You know, Halo (sorry, I dont know your real name), if you keep your eyes on some of the Ebay Stores, you can find some reasonable gear, for reasonable prices. The hard-core re-enactors cry - some of this equipment is more appropriate in B-Type movies than the field of re-enacting . . . . but from my point of view, its perfect for airsoft. Check out Spearhead Militaria. What Price Glory has some very reasonable gear to improve your impression beyond that. Its not something to buy overnight.

You know me, I've been needing an excuse to start grabbing up SS reinactment kit again and this would be it. I'll have an impression by the time we move back, in time to support some good autumn campaigns. deutschland uber alles.

These are exciting times.

I make enough to buy an MP40 every week... so that and some new pants... a hat... some form of gear... shouldn't take me long.

I'll be saving up more monies for a solid bolt action workhorse now :) I'm all for fighting for the fatherland. Maybe even that LPEG MG-34 coming out soon.
