I admined for most of round one...ON TOP OF HAMBURGER HILL. From the moment I came on the Scene, I saw John of Dune Panthers leading his men with vigor and I must say, I would follow his orders any day of the week.

Let all shit talk about "ACU asshats hacking on Hamburger Hill" stop right now.

From what I saw, they did not cheat once. Kids were falling in the mud, breaking guns and taking hits while proned out...calling every one.

That is all.

Thank you, Knuckles. I did see you call one guy out, but he immediately went to ground with his death rag on. It's the only time I saw you call someone out that entire fight.

Over all I had a good time, and for me thats just about all that matters. I would like to thank all of the event coordinators and those who helped with parking, chrono, ect. I would also like to give a special thanks to Knuckles for getting everything under control in the Khe Sahn village that first round.

As for the gripes, yeah people cheated it happens. The major gripe I had was the cluster shazaam of Taliban noobs, very few of them would listen to those in authority, much less myself when I led a platoon sized element down the logging road. When asked just even to space out they would either talk back or do their own thing. It is a must that experienced teams are mixed in with newer players.

I tried to find Kendo, but I couldn't! He was hiding from me, okay?!

Next OP, I'm going to unload on every single bush I pass, no matter how small, Just on the off-chance that you're in it. No shrubbery will be safe.

KA-BAR it isn't a personal attack. I realize that you may have been a distance, and it isn't my conscience that is bothering me. It's the fact that if my guys aren't calling hits, they need to be reprimanded. As far as I know, you are a vigorous player and all of my snide comments were intended to get you riled up. I had a hell of a time fighting you and yours. Next time, maybe we'll fight at your side.

As for the OP, I can't stop talking about it. I can't wait for the video. In fact, if I could get the raw footage on DVD I'd be willing to pay a small fee.

Per Zeus' instruction we all removed and stowed our Shemaghs at the round one briefing.

I will agree that to the inexperienced eye DPM and Woodland may seem indistinguishable. They are similar.
If you think that gave us an unfair advantage consider this; In the last round we suffered three friendly fire casualties.
That is an equal opportunity gripe. Personally I like the challenge that comes with having to identify a target before I shoot. Slows down the game and speeds up the mind.

I couldn't even identify my own guys at times in that thick brush with foggy glasses... The Tri-city Jokers wasted half of our squad in friendly fire--but they made up for it when they healed our medic and we were able to get back on line! :)

NW Operators all had a blast. There may have been some hacking, but I personally didn't see anyone that I knew was hacking beyond a shadow of a doubt.

There were organizational difficulties, but as someone who has run large events in the past (not airsoft), I don't easily criticize because I know how hard it is. It is really easy to take for granted what Zeus was doing without understanding all of the miniscule, stupid, migrane-inducing details that are necessary for something like this. Personally, I want to thank Zeus for all of the work he did. And, in the spirit of Stars and Stripes American Entrepeneurism, I hope he made a little $$ too! And, in the spirit of Stars and Stripes American Consumerism--don't patronize AP events if you don't like them. If 5 people show up to their next event, then the people have spoken. But if another 350+ show up, well... you can fill in the blanks.

My squad, and I enjoyed getting wasted by APST few Solid times. Once, about 20 mins into first round, they came into field 3, and we totally got wasted, because we had about 10 untrained men, on a well trained Own squad. Another time we were heading up to field 3, and there was a building that APST attacked us 5 guys in. We survived a total of 6 seconds. I kill a guy behind tree, then get mowed down by about 6 other guys... One of the APST guys tossed a well placed Nade into the building, and my team was screwed. Thanks APST.

I also have a complaint on the ACU guys. I don't like them. We were ordered to the top of Hamburger, to help out our guys. (we were controlling it.) and we finally got to the top (we went along the right side) and once we got the the top, we glanced around, took a few deep breaths, and were about to move when the ACU guys killed us all, and we got to walk down the hill after being up there a total of 10 seconds.... I still don't see how we missed them in ACU......

The Op was okay, bet deffinately could be better.

The main problem I saw was the difference of experienced players between the Taliban and Allied side. In future Ops it would be nice to have teams divided more evenly on experience.

A small problem I had was that British DPM is hard to tell apart from US woodland. The only time it ever really came up was during the last round, when I was stalking a lone person who I was having trouble deciding who's side he was on. Turned out it wasn't mine. :(

More admins were deffinately needed, just to keep things moving smoothly.

It'd be nice to have an Op somewhere besides Splat Action for a change.

And maybe, one day, a game will actually get started on time.

EDIT- It was also cool to meet a few new people that I look forward to fighting along side again.

I had a really good time. Lots of fun. Lots of action.

I think you guys need to realize something. There was almost 400 people at this event. Never before has a game been this large in the NW. Ever. Just being there and taking part in Oregon airsoft history was cool for me.

I also think you all should have gone into the game assuming that there would be hacking. Assuming that there would be camping. Assuming that there would be a certain level of bullshit.

You just can't have that many people in such a small area without a few logistical problems.

With that said, I had a blast and I look forward to the next big game at Splat Action. Thanks again Angelo and the admins who made this game possible.

I'm wondering when the next OP will come. I missed this OP due to a church retreat but I hope there's one coming soon in a couple of months. Heard it was the biggest OP ever.

Just a comment I'd like to throw in.

ISAF deffinately had outstanding medics. When you guys attacked the Embassy in the second mission, I ambushed some of your forces but was quickly taken out. I moved closer to the side of the road to get out of the line of fire and sat down. From that point, just about everyone of the ISAF guys that passed me asked if I needed to be mediced. I was very tempted to take the offer. ;)

Big thanks to Zeus and everyone else who put this one on. Great game!

Also, thanks to:
- Niall for giving us enough leeway to have fun and enough orders to get stuff done.

- The Ghosts and Mono; had fun sharing a squad with you guys.

- All the ISAF medics. You guys did a great job! Out of the 5 or 6 times I died, I only had to respawn once, and from what I've heard there are people who fared way better than that.

And an extra special thanks to the following people on the taliban team:

- The big group of you that came after us in Starlog immediately after the start of the third round (your leftmost guy was about 40 feet away from me at one point).

- The three of you who came down the logging road, met up with the guy on the road, and moved into hobo camp about halfway though the round (I thought you guys would never leave).

- The other small group who came down the logging road towards the end of the round before splitting off towards the village.

Thanks, I had fun sneaking by you all :D

I was one of the Taliban guys who had to walk up hamburger about 7 times that day. There was some intense fighting up there though.

When we threw those smokes then had a massive mass attack/charge against the ACU guys, my AEG broke. But it was the sweetest charge iv'e ever done.

During the second round i was the guy with a springer and binoculars running from Si-con and hobo camp reporting messeges.

BTW, there were only three guys defenting Si-con for about an hour during the second round :P.

I want to say stop whining on who didn't call their outs, for as far as I'm concerned both sides did a little or if so really poorly on that part, but It was one hell of a game. Dune and KA-BAR I want to suggest your teams should have a battle aganst one another.. KA-BAR well I can tell he hid an a hole the whole time. DunePanther is one hell of a leader and lead his team truely, and I like how he defends his team. Zeus you did a good job, and that the fact we had an extremely high number of players made it fun.. Shits gonna happen in a game no matter what, just use to it... Call the cheater when you see them, say something when there not being called by an admin, and well thats all I have to say... and truely this was a battle to remeber, lets make the next one as well..
