Hotcurry... ok let me try for ya...

1. Typical face gear Yes.. I've seen all you mentioned. Minimum requirements are eye protection... usually goggles or shooting glasses.

2. Normally you don't leave the field while play is going on. There are breaks where you can do this.

3. Bring night gear if your going to spend Friday night there, but be prepared to spend the entire day there.

4. Yes

5. No ammo restriction on this game...Some others do have limits. LOL, I usually carry about 5,000 rnds, but have NEVER came close to that at all.

6. Depends, I can get away with 1 battery for a whole day, but others bring extra batteries. If in doubt bring 'em, don't wanna be caught in a firefight when the battery dies:)

If you're going to go to war against a major enemy, go; knock the hell out of him fast, and go in there to kill him and get it over with.

TOP - H beat me to the punch, but I'll post my thoughts anyway-

Hotcurry, for outdoor Ops like this:

1. Eye protection is, obviously, a must. It doesn't have to be a sealing pair of goggles. Helmets are generally for looks. Most people I see out there don't wear full face protection. There'll be a couple of balaclavas here and there, and very few facemasks. (Facemasks don't exactly look milsim.)

2. Leaving the field mid-game to do something is generally discouraged. If you think you'll need something, I reccomend bringing it into the field, and leaving any extra water, bengay or whatever at the spawn.

3. If the op was going to run into the dark, it would have been mentioned. (theres camping available the night before the op, if you're interested though.)

4. On you, or at the spawn point. I generally carry some cliff bars in whatever spare pockets/pouches I've got.

5. The only ammo restrictions are that box or drum magazines are only for actual SAWs. How many rounds people carry with them varies quite a bit. I'd say carry as many on you as you can muster.

6. I'd reccomend bringing 1100 mah worth of battery or so. You probably won't wind up needing that much, but being out of batteries is no fun. If you've running a heavier spring in your AEG, you might even want more.

The majority of that was just my reccomendations. You may be able to get away with less, batteries, ammo, or whatever.

1. Pretty much goggles are needed, make sure they're ANSI Z87.1. Helmets are, yes, for looks. I wear a brown triangle bandage as a do-rag. theres a pic in my personal gallery. Just make sure its comfortable.

2. Leaving the field is not actually despised, but try to do so at a convenient opportunity. I had to go off-field during an engagement, because my gun killed itself.

3. Dont worry about NVGs, we wont be out that long. Might as well bring dope and beer. ;) I keep a flashlight handy, AA maglite on a lanyard, tied to my pants. If I lose my pants, I've got other issues.

4. I usually throw about 10 dollars worth of Tigers Milk bars in my buttpack (thats alot), and an MRE or other portable lunch. the excessive quantity of TM bars is incase someone else needs one. I did throw one at somebody at G18 last year. Have something worthwhile in the car, but always have some extra food on you. I also carry a 3-litre camelbak, and an extra 1litre nalgene. the LRRP-style rig i'm still building includes an MSR Sweetwater, but all the long-duration ops keep coming up short. Dont worry about it. Keep a couple extra bottles in the car.

5. I prefer to carry somewhere in the neighborhood of 800 - 1200 rounds, but i'm a bit over-cautious. some guys carry as little as 400. As much as you can carry, would be the safest bet. I also keep a 100rnd speedloader on my buttpack, just in case. If this is your first big op, just bring alot of ammo. I carried 1000 in my first big op, and I reloaded.

6. I try to carry atleast one spare battery, and again, I'm overcautious. my current loadout has me carrying only 800 rounds, but two 2000mAh batteries. Have both charged, and keep the spare one on you. I also have a charger that will hook up to a car battery, just in case. I like it, I like it alot.

Wow, thanks guys.

So...I get the sense that the spawn area is like a big pantry, with shelving, and lockers, and a snack bar?!

If you need to leave the field for any "good" reason, you call yourself hit, place a death rag ontop of your head and walk off the field.

When returning, you put the deathrag ontop of your head and return to your spawn point. Then your back in action!

Not quite...Its the muddiest spot we can find, preferably in a puddle, at the top of a hill, in the wind, with no cover.

I didn't mean to give the impression that leaving the field was a big no-no or anything. Just that if there's something you know you'll need or think you're likely to need, such as your lunch, pack it into the field.

Try to only leave the field if you're injured. Carrying some power bars and water on your isn't very difficult or heavy. :D

NP. Thanks for the clarification. I'm a backpacker, so I have to force myself not to take everything.

Being on the Taliban team and all, can I wear my cool shemagh? Or is that in bad taste?

Wear it. No one around here cares about taste. Have you read the off-topic forum?
