I am so up for this, I actually have been wanting to do something along these lines for a long time. I would certainly pay some cash if someone were to do some small, private trainings between now and then.

Looks like I'll be throwing my hat into the ring on this.
The wife bought me a Maruzen L96 for Christmas. I don't know if the scout/sniper role is my bag, but I am looking forward to enjoying the range the rifle affords.

Heheh. Maybe now you can compete with my brother and I. At Belligerence you seemed to be tired of getting sniped :p

Any word yet on what the terrain is like? I want to start color-matching a new ghillie to the environment as soon as we know where the competition is taking place.

In other news, Chapped, you might have found the only woman alive who is willing to buy airsoft guns for her husband. I've never touched an L96, but they're sexy as hell and if I could molest your sniper system for a moment or two at some point, that would make me very happy. Are you going to upgrade it?

Well, uh... Yes, that will happen.

The terrain with be: WOODLAND

There is your gift. If you can't build the proper base for a suit with that information...kill yourself.

It is currently shooting just below 550 fps.
I'm going to field test it and if necessity dictates it, I'll consider throwing money at it.
Sorry for the temporary thread hijack.

Actually, Im envisioning not just spotlighting the operator but their choice of kit.

So, discussion about what you have done to your rifles to make them what they are is perfectly in sorts on this thread.

Please do post what platform you plan to use and what you have done to it. All that information will be posted for the top three spots. This little competition should yield some great video and photos so, those that win will get their personal glamour shots for the world to view.

Sounds great Bill.
I'm a noob. My goal in participating in this event isn't to waggle my woogiestick, but to learn what I can about the role. Ever since I read Carlos Hathcocks account of his role in Vietnam I've been pretty intrigued by the scout/sniper position. I figure knowing is half the battle and execution is the other half, (royalties mailed to G.I. Joe,) so I definately welcome the sharing of info in this thread.

I'd love to see some commentary on related field craft and equipment.

Golly gosh Mister! I sure hope so. I mean, Geez! Maybe I could be as 733t as you someday!

You're high mate. I am quite familiar with the sensation and sound of a snipers round verses an AEG. The only sniper that shot me at Beligerence was Soyez. Moreover I never get tired of getting shot and I never get tired of shooting down the ignorant. Consider yourself wounded. I'd schedule the parade around the upcoming kill shot but I'm sure I will, (and have before,) shoot your a$$ dead without a seconds hesitation or a moment of reflection.
What was his name again???
Doesn't matter. He was the enemy.
