Quick question about limits on what kind of gun you have

Postby silentstrike » Fri Sep 15, 2006 4:44 pm

I have an upgraded bolt action gun and I was wondering if I can use it at any of the games. The reason I'm asking is because I heared a lot of differnet answers. Some say that you have to take a sniper cert course and some say you don't. I've searched the forums and PM'd people but no one seems to want to answer my question :? so I'm posting it here.

Can I use my gun, yes or no?

thanks for the info :)

What kind of gun, how fast does it shoot (with .20s), and how much experience have you got?
Please buy your gear from Rick Fisher; perhaps he can buy a Life.

You don't have to take a certification course, though there is a Scout Sniper Course that Gunny has setup and will start again when we find a field that meet the requirements.

No one is stopping you from bringing or using your rifle.

Ok cool thanks for the replys.

I got a couple spring for differnet areas. for woodland I usally use a 150 if its tight a 130 so its usally around 500 fps with .2s. As for experince I've been playing for about a year and a half with this gun. The biggest game I've been to was 5 people so I've been wanting to step it up and go to some of the bigger games.

Btw what requirments would you need for a field? I have some land so mabye I could help ya out there :)
when in doubt, shoot 'em again

500fps with .2g bbs for bolt snipers
400fps with .2g bbs with an AEG.

All I ask is that if you're running with a bolt action rifle (shooting about 500 fps) that you refrain from headshots. Also make sure you're at a safe distance at wich you can engage targets.

SNIPER SAFETY
Anyone acting as a sniper with an upgraded bolt action rifle over 400 fps (1.5j) should carry a sidearm that can be used alternately when engaging targets closer than about 60 feet. If you have no sidearm and find yourself too close to the opposing force, you may either a) call a safety kill, b) wait until they move to a safe range or c) relocate to a safe range. Do not fire at targets closer than 60 feet.

I'm sorry, I know this post is "dead" but:

If I have a rifle that shoots 480, have been to a sniper course here in Phoenix, and have decicated my life to being a sniper, what else would I have to do to be able to snipe at games (when I come)?

just clear it with an admin, and if they give you the go, just shoot responsibly and follow all the rules.

It is a bolt, right? Assuming that's you in the sig. Oh, and it's nice to have a young "sniper" that has actually taken a course. Hope it worked.

That is me with my unmodded bolt VSR-11. So far, most of the games I go to, they always have a special mission set out for me and or my team.
