We have the number for the OPFOR Right now. We going to contact the teams that have show interest in OPFOR, who we already pened, to see their numbers. Then we will open up to everyone else...
Cheers,
John

The Willamette Airsoft Rangers opt for: War Hammer.
Please buy your gear from Rick Fisher; perhaps he can buy a Life.

Is Tigerstripe enough of a non-american pattern for OPFOR? I know it isn't used by the US anymore, so I wanted to make sure it would be fine to run it as OPFOR. Also, is woodland gear still acceptable for OPFOR, such as LBV's and such?

So far our roster has 11/12 slots filled. I will know by friday if one of my teammates is going and put him on or fill the position with another person.

Since a GPS is required, can you provide some additional info in that context? Are there any waypoints we can add and where is the location so I could load up some appropriate maps?

I also would like this information, but also another question.

I have an old crappy GPS. How accurate will it need to be, as in, does it need a topographical map interface, or will Long/Lat be enough?

At the onset of each trial your team will receive a briefing packet which will contain your operation orders. These orders will define your task, and any available intelligence regarding the operation. Included in this briefing will be map and coordinates for insertion, extraction and objectives.
The navigational requirments are not of an advanced nature, but since each trial is timed a GPS unit will greatly aid your team in execution of the trial.

Since your team will know NOTHING regarding the operation until you recieve this packet you will have to review your orders and develop your plan quickly. This may mean trying to read your orders as your team bounces around in the back of jeeps enroute to your insertion point.

I suggest each team develop some standard templates for operation execution. This might mean DM/recon elements, demolition, offensive and/or defensive fire teams. Who knows. If it helps, imagine that your team is essentially a Special Forces unit. You are a rapid insertion team designed to handle various 'special' tasks at the drop of a hat.
This will NOT be the typical force on force infantry fighting most of us are accustomed to. You will have specific tasks that will need to be accomplished under pressure of time contraints and under enemy fire.

Win, lose or draw we are confident your going to have a kick a$$ time.

edit: if you want to preload an area map all I can tell you is the event is being held in the Squaw Mountain area out of Estacada.

ENDURING HORIZON WAIVER

Postby chapped » Thu Sep 14, 2006 6:22 pm

If you registered to participate in OP: Enduring Horizon you need to bring a signed copy of this; http://www.candlemoth.net/RACWAIVER.doc

This includes OPFOR and Participants.
NO WAIVER = NO PLAY

You must be onsite and ready to go at 9:00am. Have your waiver signed and ready. Participants bring $10 cash, exact change. OPFOR is not required to pay as they are working. Given the nature of this operation, and the logistical challenges of parking and getting everyone where they need to be you must be ready at 9:00am and you will not be able to leave until completion of the operation. If you want to leave early, you will be hiking 5 miles to reach your car. We do not have the staff to taxi your sorry butts around. If you cannot keep this commitment, do not make it. The final trial concludes no later than 6:00pm.

Team leaders and OPFOR will be PM'd directions for the event.

Dude, this is tomorrow, if you're worrying about BBs, I'd get out of the house and buy some in one hell of a hurry.

I really wish that I could have come to this. It looks like a kick-ass event. I just hope that somebody posts a "combat highlights" video, like they did for Grid 18 and Cypriot Ridge.
