I think it's the NV and the tracers.

Also how does custom = stock?

Look at their other videos, you can see that their tech (Ajax) does all the work on their guns... Those ranges are pretty impressive, it sure is hell ain't 100 feet like our engagement distances.

Also, it is stock in the sense that it is literally JUST the replica. You get the custom gun for $500+, and that's it.

Pretty sure that's not what stock means.

I saw night sammich in the title.

For me, stock = factory parts, not aftermarket.
Aftermarket =/= stock.

But it isn't retarded to question something you already understood?

Not when you're dealing with a retard, such as you are viewed.

f***ing this. I got shot 6 times during the Lords of War night game.

Only once was it by the other side.

That's why you get that eyeclops NVG for $25. Hell of a lot better than letting your eyes adjust to the night only to have some twatsponge ruin it by flashing their light at you.

Part of the reason why those videos are so cool is because they have Ajax custom guns. Good luck getting each player to go in $500+ on just a gun alone!

$500 on a gun? Been there, done that. I've spent $1200. It's the NVGs and the tracers that make that video cool. Plenty of Oregon players have tracer units and several folks have NVGs. Plenty of Oregon players have suped up guns they spent several 100s on.

Beyond that, they have an objective and an organized game, along with a fixed location to assault. The idea is not to just send people to 2 sides of the field and say "go." Obviously those guys at the complex were told to hold it, monitor with spot lights, and patrol. Who knows how long they waited? IMO, good luck getting people to be patient enough to stand around guarding a complex.

Here's my 2 cents. Night games are a hoot, here are some observations / considerations. Light discipline. Overuse of light makes you a target and really screws up your night vision. It takes a while to regain full night vision after some nimrod shines his tacticool 300 lumen light in your eyes.
Noise discipline. Your hearing plays a much greater role when your vision is diminished. slow down and listen to what is going on around. Gag and Duct tape the mouth of the team member who must give a running commentary on everything they experience, and for sure silence the damn radios. Radios give away more stuff than you realize, especially at night. Ditto for dangling gear.
Target ID: as stated by others this is a biggie. At one event at our farm, I quietly led our squad into the enemy territory. We used our lights as little as was possible ( hand over lens, small slit of light visible) . Suddenly all hell broke loose and we listened to practically the entire opposing side take each other out in the dark. We all lay there in the darkness and laughed ourselves silly. We easily took out the remainder. They had split up awaiting us in ambush. No communications with each other. When someone started moving, someone else started shooting and we just listened to the show about 25 yards away, lying in the weeds.

One other scenario we occasional use is the " recover the spy satellite" ( 8" pvc pipe w caps and a bike strobe light ) game. One side is the spec ops on foot in hostile country, who's goal is to recover the spy satellite. The other is the mechanized bad guys complete with APC with a gazillion candle powered spotlight / mounted SAW ( talk about messed up night vision) . The element of the vehicle and the spotlight makes for pretty exciting times. The APC cannot go into many places where foot troops can go go, so it turns into a game of cat & mouse / bound and hide. Despite warnings not to shoot out the spot light on the APC, under penalty of having to replace it, it has been shot out ( too tempting a target)

Night ops are a whole different dimension of play. You just need to understand and use the differences.

Like what DJ said when someone does shine a light in your eyes it takes a while to get that night vision back. Personally I hate this part of a night ops type of game. I remember back in Eastern Oregon some guy did this do me with a LED flash light. I was tripping over logs, and walking into tree's. It's not fun when you can't see shit, and getting shot at at the same time.

I think when it come to night game's communication is a must. We don't want a situation of what DJ describe.(Even if its really funny  )
