I am looking into making a Tabuk for a DM platform. For those of you who don't know, a Tabuk is basically an RPK sans bi-pod, with a lighter barrel (a DM barrel does not need to take the same punishment that a LMG barrel does), some internal modifications, skeletonized butt-stock, and single shot only.
My airsoft intent: RPK sans bi-pod, precision barrel, better hop-up unit (if needed), skeletonized buttstock, and internal work.
Being a semi-auto device, responsiveness is my watchword. I've heard using bearing instead of bushings will help that. Can anyone give me any more suggestions for improving the trigger response on an RPK being fired in semi-auto.
There's also the question of which RPK to be used as a base. I know very little about SRC or CA internals.
Any actual help or insight that can be offered is much appreciated.
