This was probably one of the best and most well organized events that I've ever been to.

Though I only got to the village after the game was over, it was extremely well done. All the actors I ran into did a great job and stayed in character quite well. Running with the raiders was good times, my only complaint would be that not everyone got in character (super mutants and BoS milling around within each other's eyeshots and not attacking each other, I'm lookin' at you), but that is not the organizer's fault at all.

It's a shame that the ODF got mixed up and everything, as I was having a really great time. I'd be happy to shave another mohawk in my sexy hair and spraypaint myself again, even after finding out that spraypaint does not actually come off very well at all.

Junto and DRAT, you guys are all awesome airsofters to hang out with on and off the field, you all did a great job, and I'm definitely looking forward to next time :)

I didn't go but I note that the whiners are the same people that whine about every game. Nuff said.

So, I have to apologize to everyone again. I thought I understood how we were allowed to use the field, I also (along with other people on this site) thought that the property we were using was owned by Longview Fibre. Longview Fibre owns all of the surrounding non-state forest, but the Wolf Creek field, from Highway 26 all the way to where we were, is Oregon Department of Forestry land. ( The road was marked clearly by signs that I put in the ground with my own hands. Two were missing out of the three, which may have been taken by the Oregon Department of Forestry people.)

To clarify, it is not BLM or National Park land. It is State owned and from here on out everyone using the site must pre-approve through the state, which is odd, because other game hosts who have used the field claimed that back when we acquired the field they talked to Longview Fibre.

Beyond being misinformed, I should have double-checked. That was my fault. The thing that puzzles me the most is how the Oregon Department of Forestry got the info about our game faxed to them by someone. I will be trying to find out who. As it stands, it seems that they either camp our boards looking to see what spaces we use or someone on this site blew the whistle.

Why someone would rather fax the ODF than ask me if I had a proper permit for the field is beyond me. I'd have appreciated the alleged whistle-blower coming to me before everyone drove out to the game, we set up the town, I talked a County Sheriff into letting us use it (admitting that I was under-informed and would come back to tell you all that it is State, not private, property), he graciously decided to let us use it, and the ODF guys called their boss and really fought for us to keep using the field until our intended end time. We owe them for that. They were very gracious and accommodating, and seemed to think that the whole concept was really cool.

As I said, they could just watch our events section, but I have the sneaking suspicion that someone decided to rain on all of our parades, rather than telling us what we actually had to go through to reserve the space.

I need the callsigns and names (first and last) of everyone and their additional "plus" players that attended the game and intends to attend again when we host at a better venue. Anyone who does actually want a refund, please PM me and we will get your money back to you as swiftly as possible.

Remember, next time you see a game hosted at Wolf Creek, ask the host if they've got their permit. I never heard a lick about written permits at:
Santa's War II
The Infamous Manicotti Incident
Numerous PLA Training Days
I Spin Kicked a Blackhawk Skirm
etc.

Thanks to everyone who was a good sport, came out in character, and really got into it. We're keeping the props, costumes and the buildings. Keep saving your caps and working on your costumes. We will let you know when this game is ready to leave "beta". thank you all for your understanding. We will not ever make this mistake again and hope that no one else will either.

Junto, I had a blast.

Game was extremely well organised, immense amount of support and great attitude, wonderful props and characters. All the actors did were fantastic and it was awesome to hang out with them and play a role as a merc, I am sorry that it had to end so soon. Honestly those kids that are posting they had a bad time don't matter, because if they feel that about a game this well put together then they should not be playing with people as good as DRAT. Like Chesnutz said, you're a great bunch of peoples, on and off the field. I greatly look forward to coming to the out of beta game!

It was also nice to see everyone getting into character, though, as I told the raiders, you didn't have to listen to us when we told you mags out!

All in all, splendid game, I will definitely attend the next one.

AAR---

What- We were to meet up at 9am and break into roughly 3 groups, to roleplay and encounter using the basis of the game Fallout.

Improves-

1) Instead of having a high number of Super Mutants perhaps give them 2-hit deaths.

2) Improving the Field, we needed the ability to move around without having to use the road.

3) Clearance for use of site, nuff said.

4) Better Posting of the route in, I understood where to go after a while, but if you post signs I would suggest making them at every intersection...not just ones you turn on. (I figured it out after my second wrong turn that you just stayed on the main road unless told to do otherwise)

Sustains-

1) Great job with the story line, and reasons for everyone to stay on focus, I really enjoyed that BoS had limited ammo, made alot of people think before shooting.

2) Role play was terrrific by everyone.

3) Use of Props for in game motivations and interaction.

4) Good preparation, having actual water and soda to buy with "caps" was great....enjoyed it alot.

Overall--

Great game. I enjoyed that people had to think and it wasn't just a hose fest with 70% of the people using box mags or high caps. I am sure that with a few adjustments this will turn out to be a great game. Good job to the staff and supporting personel.

I guess I should not have been a Super Mutant. Playing the role of super mutant is like being suicidal. Grunt and shoot wildly to give out my position to everyone? Getting shot and walking back to the respawn and walking all the way back only to get shot again is no fun. Mutants should have better strategies to 'kill the humans'. We can't kill them unless we outsmart them. Saying the Mutants didn't play our role is not fair. I am glad other groups enjoyed the event, however.

great game and would have been better on a different field mainly because of spawns (and permits) but it was fun and will be better next time, also it was hard for super mutants to do their job seeing as how every time we got to the top of the hill we got pinned down by fire from raiders or BoS (the spawn problem)

While it didn't work out the way I was hoping (Who wants the fire marshal to end a game?) I still had a lot of fun! It's the first AP game I've had to really travel for (And as such I thank you for taking my airsoft virginity in at least a fun, albeit short, way) and it was still, to me, worth it. I can't wait for the next Fallout themed game. I know it's going to be awesome :D

And while the signs leading were spares, they were at every fork in the road. So finding the place wasn't that hard. Seeing the first sign and knowing we were in the right place was gold :p

Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) came to the field in a rather large albeit oddly shaped fire looking truck...
