Will a real sword type 56 rust?

Postby Alien_Hunter » Mon Jun 24, 2013 10:56 pm

I wouldn't play in the rain... But I really want one. Maybe there is some kind finish I could put on, once and for all? I wouldn't buy if I had to oil it all the time.

I doubt there is something that will last forever, but I believe some of the stuff people use on real steel should prevent rusting for a good amount of time. Although the rusting on a type 56 isn't too bad, I wiped off one every once and a while and it stayed fairly rust free.

Rust adds character. If your AK looks brand new, you're doing it wrong.

My Real Sword hasn't rusted after playing in the rain. I do towel it off when I get home, but I haven't done anything besides that.

Also, good luck finding one, every place that I've seen that carries them are out of stock on them.

It's a good thing you live in California, then. Up here, if you don't play in the rain, you don't play.

Why is everyone from the South so scared of a little rain?

Also, from what I've heard, since Real Sword is a side project for Norinco and they're in the middle of making a bunch of real guns right now, we can't expect Real Sword stuff back in stock for a while.

Ak47's should have rust. But not mine 8). I have ancient Chinese secret to get one... Since a wood/metal CYMA AK goes for $190... Might cough up the $$ for a R.S. But I really like LCT ak74nm. I want to put a GP25, a drum mag, a scope AND a tracer on that gun. An AK47 would stop from buying all of that junk, since it wouldn't fit/look right.

I have used my RS type 56 in alot of rainy games, it will rust if left unattended. A dab of hoppes 9 and a rag will keep ur gun in good looking condition. Sure a real ak looks good beat up, but airsoft is about re-sale value (Even more so with realsword sens you can't find them new anymore, sold mine for $500) if you want too sell that gun down the road, keep it dry or well oiled in a gun bag. It has a vary raw steal body and some parts aint easy to wipe down. I stick to my m4 or SAW for rainy days as they have a much less likelihood to rust.

Everything rusts. Well, I guess, technically, most things oxidize.

Nothing says "newb" like a brand new looking AK.

I have had my RS 56-1 rust before my very eyes during my first LC game in NY 4 years ago. it was a light drizzle out and over the course of 2 hours the bolt went from steel color to that familiar dirty orange rust color. most of it did not pit and was easy to remove. i would just concern myself with the mechanical areas such as the mag catch and folding stock mech to remain lubed or the folding bayonet. RS was built in one of norinco's auxillary truck parts factory. but they are not to spec, you can't put in modern daytona gun engines in them. Justin made but a few but they had to have modifications that require tooling you would see in a smith's shop. it is too bad that prospect to do something with kwa never happened some years ago. RS was working on a type 81 rifle besides their WA based m4's and that 97 LMG and sniper rifle.

I don't wanna fuss with it :( RS makes all these awesome guns and probably destroys them before production. They must have some kind of Mao-ist self criticism going on otherwise at least SOME of these proposed guns would've trickled out of China. I've got to talk myself into the LCT or cheap out on a CYMA.

It was odd that RS went to IWA this year in Germany with nothing new. Just the same plain old booth like in shot from years ago.

For the sake of general knowledge, the Chinese cannot privately own or use airsoft replicas. All rifles are designed and marketed for export or training. There are no "secret" Real Sword guns that they're only offering to the Chinese buyers because there ARE NO CHINESE BUYERS. And yeah, they wouldn't have new stuff at IWA when they've scaled back production. Consider the company on temporary hold. I'm sure they'll do more in the future.

Seeing how nothing new has came out that they promised since shot show of 2010. They are just slipping away like small no name brands like well, bell, BE. Etc. they still atleast produce limited numbers. That type 81 is what I truly wanted. Would of been nice I think.
