New from Portland

Hello all,

Name's Mykael (Callsign Apex, or Pariah. I respond to both - pick whatever is faster for you to say) . I am a 16 year old Sophmore currently attending Cleveland High School in Portland, Oregon. I'm very new to airsoft and was hoping if someone could take me under their wing and show me the ropes and perhaps even recruit me to their team.

I am looking for a team of mature people ages 16+ located near the Portland area. It'd be nice if they were somehow connected to Cleveland High School as it would make it much easier for me to stay in touch. I have school to deal with - but since winter break's comin' up in 2-3 weeks that'll give me sometime to learn to play airsoft!

I have 2 guns

First gun is a CYMA AK74M (CM047C) with mid-cap 150 rd AK47 style magazines
Second gun is a Tactical Railed WE 1911

I currently only have one battery, and no green gas. I JUST got my gear in the mail.
I have a tactical vest with 4 single stack kangaroo pouches - all black. I have no camo, but I do have some worn down combat boots. I think I have the basic necessities for airsoft already.
I'm hoping to obtain better gear as I improve from airsoft, hopefully shifting from my Rebel/Merc/Resistance fighter loadout to a more Mil-Sim one (Aiming for Russian VDV), but right now I'm just doing what's cost effective.
(Update: Obtained basic Hydration carrier, and Bobstar foam frame anti-fog sunglasses/goggles.)

It would be great if someone could recommend me to a Portand based Russian airsoft group. I hope to end up with a Flora and OD/Black loadout. I hate American camo so much - Army pattern are you kidding me? That only works with some kind of gravel pit.

Physical Description:

Height: 6 ft.
Hair/Eyes: Black
Build: Medium - currently taking Crossfit so I'll get more stamina (Because airsoft seems easier to play when you're not constantly fatigued) . I look quite physically mature for someone my age.
Age: 16

Most teams have a prefered camo, but OD should work for the beggining.
I have a CYMA AK47 and I love it!
My team uses propane instead of green gas since you can pick it up most every where for cheap.
Your in the Portland area which seems to be Oregons airsoft headquarters, so finding a team shouldn't be to hard.

Welcome to AP! if you find the all black gear annoying after awhile just go get yourself some krylon and paint that stuff to your liking. Definitely not abnormal to paint your gear instead of buying a whole new setup. Unless you're rich or something :P
