Dummy PRC 148

So I got one of those dummy PRC 148s to hold my Motorola talk-about and er thang be workin fine, that is until I couldn't figure out how to attach the dummy antenna it came with. Does anyone have experience with these things? I know its a cheap shell of plastic but they included the darn antenna so I'd assume it would fit. It appears as though the hole has a second ring inside of it that is just a bit to fat to allow the antenna's base in. Your help is appreciated, many thanks.
