Which M4 Mags Fit?

Postby Corsair » Mon Jun 25, 2012 1:01 pm

Guten Tag, Nacht oder Morgen, und wie geht's?

I'm in Germany right now, an exchange program, the whole nine. These keyboards are odd, and I keep messing up words containing Y's and Z's (the two letters are switched). And look at all the cool symbols I can make: Ö, Ä, Ü, §, ß.

Returning from my random tangent, the main reason I have come to you folks of AP is that on mz down time here, I have been browsing through some gear/attachments on the Web that is generally known as Wide and encompasses the World. This is all well and good, I'm getting a decidedly spending chest rig with lots of mag pouches, as the current loadout I am going for is light and loaded 8)

Anywho, I was looking at moving to midcaps because I am tired of perpetually sounding like a maraca while I am trying to be sneaky Steve :doubt: . I saw two different deals, a pack of ten (tan) midcaps from King Arms or the same from Ares, both for $64.80 (or around there).

Now, I think you can understand my trepidation. The lower reciever (along with my gun) is made by Dboys, and is obviously an M4-mag type. Now, I dont want to go off and drop sixty some-odd bucks on mags that don't fit. Do any of you guys here in the community have input as to what does and doesn't fit?

Thanks to those of you that post. :)

I haven't heard of anyone having mag issues with D-boys. The main guns that have issues are KWAs due to the tight magwells.

I've read conflicting comments about King Arms mids in them. Some people had to file down the nub on the mag that holds the bb's or dremel something on the hopup for them to feed. Other people say their KA mids fed perfectly.
Apparently there are 3 generations of metal bodies the Dboy bodies have. So, that could be the reason opinions are conflicting.
Mags are kind of always hit and miss.

Interesting. I had not heard that about the King arms mags but I'll keep it in mind.

The Ares mags fit twenty rounds more (so it says), but that aside, are they better quality mags that KA? As in, is Ares known for having higher-quality mags (i.e. Not having to file a nub down)?

Thanks for the feedback, too.

Big thumbs up on the King Arms M16/M4 Midcaps! I have had some in service for 2 years and they are still feeding great.

They fit KWA M4's.
They fit every M4 I have seen so far. they are great but not perfect:

1. They hold about 80 to 100 rds not 120.
2. Do not over load them they will break. If you feel increased resistance while loading stop, it's full even it only has 75 rnds in it.

Put a couple drops of oil in them every 6 months or so and they will last.

I have no clue. I have a mixture of magazines, and they all work pretty well in my Javelin and JG rifles. They have issues in the KWAs I've used.
I remember back in the day, the first G&P midcaps sucked a$$. But I think I have a couple now that work fine.
I used to have all TM standard mags that worked amazing even after 10 years and some going through a flood. But I left them at someone's house for 6 months..........

Personally, they all work fine for me, so I have no opinion on what is better.

I've been having some problems with my current airsoft gun and thinking of getting a KWA AR variant. Are there any problems using emags with them?
I'm a major chairsofter, sorry about that.
