A little historical perspective on the use of polymer. In the early 90's Glock was introduced to the US and began using the term Polymer when describing the frame. The anti gun crowd was howling about the "plastic pistol" that could pass through airport screening. Any way the weapon caught on and now 80% of US police departments use the weapon. many other manufacturers jumped on the wagon and began making Polymer pistol frames. The term came into widespread use and you see it used with abandon today to describe differing products. The Glock polymer is some tough mutha stuff, It will take incredible punishment. I suspect that is why the term is being used by the Chinese rather than saying "made from cheap recycled toys". Simple economics, For them, its about $$$. Chinese industry works in a very unregulated environment. Until someone dies from the use of their products, they pretty much do what they want. In the event of product failure, well if someone makes enough noise, the product manufacture gets a bullet in the head. That is their only incentive. If some company US or other wise would make an industrial strength AS gun , I for one would buy it.
Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent,
and discerning if he holds his tongue.
