Before you get a GBB, make sure the rest of your kit is squared away. I have plenty of GBBs, but never find them to be used at games besides sweeping out a building. I've have had a need for a backup primary more times than I can remember which is a much more valuable investment in time and money.
I'd also suggest to stay away from WE GBBs. I had a WE MEU and currently have a WE G36c. The MEU's safety fell apart at random, and had constant cycling issues. The G36c ran great till the hammer roller pin fell out. Now its a great wall hanger until I get the replacement part for it, or make my own.
If your dead set on getting a GBB, I'd highly suggest a KJW M9. I've had one for 5 years with no issues. You can pick them up for about $100 from just about anywhere. Holsters can be had on the cheap since there are plenty of surplus ones on the ebay and the webs. I picked up a Safariland 6004 for my M9 for $40 shipped on ebay and its miles better than any nylon holster I've ever seen or used. I also found a BHI SERPA leg platform and holster for $30 at a surplus store. KJW also makes a great 1911 if your more deadset on that style.
I'd also suggest going with a double stack design over a single stack as the effects of cooldown are less noticeable (why I suggested an M9).
