why are women generally drawn away from airsoft?

Discuss anything and everything here that's Airsoft related.

I enjoy games when it is not raining and at least moderately warm, but I'm a sissy la la girl and this is Oregon, so I rarely play. It's true that you are all dirty, dirty perverts, but that's nothing new, so we (women) are not surprised that you act the way you do when you're all together.

You know, I don't think guys are all are women hating, alpha males, or are we all drooling virgins. Maybe that's just the kind of guy this sport attracts ;)

Because it's extremely nerdy. We are really just a bunch larpers who get to use 6mm BBs instead of saying "lightning bolt!"

I agree. Speaking only to my situation; I tore my ACL playing at The Cage, thereby putting a temporary halt to my airsoft interests. Then I had a baby and the resulting important things to do *insert cooking & cleaning joke here*.

Females are generally conditioned in American culture to not gravitate towards guns and violence. And even though society is changing, it's a tall order to get ladies out onto the airsoft field for the reasons mentioned above.

How do you change this? Get some kick-ass chick to start an all- or mostly-girl team that adds a social element. Stick to warmer weather and CQC (yay!), then we might get more females interested than just wives, girlfriends and family members. That's how I started; I figured if I didn't play I wouldn't see my husband Mike (Ash) anymore. :D

If you think you see very few women playing now, you should have been here a few years ago.

(Maybe they're all trapped in McNair's van)

EDIT:
Also, Dan.

i remeber at Res IV there was a group campfire and we adopted the motto, "what happens at campfire stays at campfire" and that did'nt make sense until riddick picked up the phone and yelled "Big a$$ Titties!"

It seems like I'm more intimidated by the girls at my school than the Reapers, even though they'd probably break my leg if I tried anything XD
A guy opens his door and gets shot, and you think that of me? No! I am the one who knocks!
