If you own the field, great. If not, it's gonna be expensive.
I looked into starting a field in Philomath on land that was privately owned. The owner only wanted me to improved/maintain the access road needed to get to the parking area. He also wanted $1,000,000 in insurance coverage. That is the part that people don't think about. Insurance. It's expensive. And you need it. There are to many potential lawsuits waiting to happen. The other area people don't think about is maintenance. Are you prepared to maintain the field by yourself? People say they would love to come out and build fields up, but when the time comes there is always work/school/girls/booze/life that stops people.
