US 1st SFOD-D/ACE IMPRESSION KIT BY AP MEMBERS (MIL-SIM)

Discussion of load-bearing equipment, tactical gear, holsters, BDUs, and other gear related to Airsoft.

US 1st SFOD-D/ACE IMPRESSION KIT BY AP MEMBERS (MIL-SIM)

Postby Unconventional » Wed Jul 20, 2011 12:51 pm

This ONE BASIC GEAR KIT FOR A modern, 2010 and up, US ARMY 1st SFOD-D/ACE IMPRESSION post coincides with the "ONE BASIC GEAR KIT FOR MULTIPLE MODERN SOF IMPRESSIONS" post that was the first part of the series of SOF's kit threads that I'd like to continue with. ACE doesn't really have one basic gear kit as they operate in all types of environments and work different assignments everywhere with different equipment..etc..covert and overt operations...however, they sometimes do have familiar kits that are used when they are operating within specific assignments..etc to differentiate themselves from other units/branches that are operational nearby or in the same region. Please keep in mind...this is not a post to place pictures of actual SOF members..etc on...these posts are for anyone who is an AP member or guest of AP who wishes to demonstrate (via their own photos with kit on..etc) or provide info that will assist others who are serious about doing an accurate impression and who also want to learn and train to the best of their knowledge, about how to operate accurately with a MIL-SIM based air-soft team..etc. The end result should be that we have 4 quadrant photos of the impression by members or a member of the AP site, along with the most up to date (2011 and up)detailed kit list for all to use as a guideline.

This post is not for myself or for my son. We already have "real deal" gear kit put together for 3 SOF's impressions...for the most part, although not perfect...lol! This topic thread is for those out there who want to acquire an accurate/semi-accurate, "real deal" kit/load-out to be used for a US Army 1st SFOD-D/ACE impression.

I'd like to see both, "greenside" and "blackside"US Army 1st SFOD-D/ACE impression kit/load-outs, if possible. This US Army 1st SFOD-D/ACE load-out impression can be SAW gunner, rifleman, medic..etc..whatever or multi-role if this particular unit has any or all of these positions.

After we get a solid, full-on consensus over a period of time, I'll put up a generally agreed upon kit list right here for the "US Army 1st SFOD-D/ACE impression kit". Remember...this is for a US 1st SFOD-D/ACE impression kit, not standard military, PMC or other impressions. AND...this is just for the main kit items, not necessarily what you're going to attach to your kit.

Let's keep this post limited to the following basic items, starting from head to toe:

HELMET -

ANSI RATED GOGGLES -

ANSI RATED PROTECTIVE SHOOTING GLASSES -

RADIO -

RADIO HEADSET & PTT -

PLATE CARRIER -

CHEST RIG/PLATE CARRIER -

CAG (real CAG) doesn't have a basic gear loadout and they wear whatever they want.

The pictures I've seen shows that they use lightweight plate carriers or no armor at all, with ChiCom vests over the top of that, with civilians mixed with local clothing. The only time I saw them overseas was a long time ago, so I'm sure they wear something completely different now.

Agreed....

I'm just posting this up anyway as they do have some familiar kits that they sometimes wear when operating near or within areas where other forces are located.

Example as of late....full Crye armor chasis and other Crye gear (uniforms vary still). In the past, Desert DCU's, Crye multicam or Crye Ranger Green clothes with smoke green Paraclete RAV's and HPC's and even Eagle CIRAS's..etc...also BAE Eclipse carriers..etc

CAG/ ACE is probably the hardest current load out to put together. What Nast said is pretty accurate, but if CAG/ACE is doing their job right.... You won't know it's them till years later.

I've seen 2 pictures in the last year that are confirmed CAG/ACE. It's hard to get info on a group that dosent want their info known. A fully loaded Multicam kit or AOR1 for door kicking is your best bet

1 for all of you.

My other source still holds true for the latest Caleb gear for CAG. Maybe not all of them but some of them. There are also some still going with some of the newer designed AWS carriers.

No, I'm not a professional in the SOF community but I do know a thing or two about some of this and other things that you will never know or hear about from me...or from some of the others posting here...and there are also things that I and some of the others on here won't ever know either..it's the way the world turns. Some get to know more or less than others. It's that way on purpose.

I think some people here are missing the point...the CAG impression list post was put up so that people can help others put together a semi-accurate or completely accurate or best of their knowledge accurate kit list for a CAG set-up. I don't care if there is 101 kits to choose from for CAG...if there is 101 or 102 kits for CAG then I guess we have a long ..long post to fill in so that everybody is satisfied.

Stay positive and non-critical, people...let's get the gear listed. ;)

Yep...

Now lets start filling in the blanks...and somebody attempt to dress-up as a CAG guy and take some quadrant photos (4 angles..left side, right side and then front and back and then maybe a diagonal or tactical stance to throw something interesting in the mix (-:

@Snowman: That kit is pretty sexy. Even if it's all the things I tell people I hate. ;-)

Here's my uneducated take:

Pakol or baseball cap of favorite team
    Beard
Oakley M Frames, ESS Crossbows, or other open, large sunglasses
Shalwar Kamis top (only the Kamis top, Afghan clothing), solid color, earth tone BDU top / Tactical Shirt, or DCU BDU top RAID modified
    DCU BDU pants or Jeans
    One Hatch knee pad
Dropleg dump pouch, solid color (even black)
    Safariland Dropleg pistol holster
Black leather belt with leather 3 mag pistol pouch, gerber pouch
ChiCom 3-4 mag chest rig (3-4 mags or less mags + the harris in one of the pouches, Compass/GPS in one small pouch, israeli dressing or hand grenade in the other, rubber banded CAT on non-firing shoulder)
Issued manpack utility pack with mission specific gear
MBITR or Harris either in manpack or on belt, non firing side
    LBT plate slick optional
    Nomex flight gloves (or Mechanix)
Riot leggings for snatch and grabs (I don't know why, but the special guys I saw had a bunch of those in country)
    double sided boot knife
    hiking boots
Sordins type headset with boom mic
watch on non-firing hand, watch face is on the inside
