damn, looks like I have to pay $60 bucks to play now. Should have read the post a little sooner. I'll be there. I know you have uniforms for rent but I'd like buy a german uniform. Know any good sites that have these uniforms at a reasonable price?

Well buddy, the "at a reasonable price" part makes me want to cry.

The following two links will give you a list of places to get gear.

Re-enactors buyers guide
2nd SS Panzer Division Links
11th Panzer's Vendor Links

You could throw down a thousand dollars on gear, and still come up short.

Its not quite as authentic (and the re-enactor in me is begging the airsofter in me to keep my filthy sewer shut), but perhaps a East German Uniform - if you get one of those bad-boys, and dye it black (for that Cheesy B-Type movie SS look) or a Greenish-Grey (rather than the light-grey that the East Germans used - look up the color 'Feldgrau' to get a better idea of the 'right' colour) (Vendor Recomendation: I do not know if he is still in business, but I recomend Franks East Meets West - I've purchased East German Border guard uniforms from him before, and always had a smooth transaction), then a German Helmet (look at the lowest priced ones) . . . . that should help bring the price down - its not as authentic - and you'll look like a German Soldier out of a B-Type movie . . . . . . but you can do it for about a tenth the price . . . . .

Right now the re-enactor in me is crying big aligator tears, and threatening to bash my rib cage in with a Lee-Enfield as soon as I'm off the computer.

I'm not a rich man. By reasonable I mean something under $500 cause I know they can get pricy. Thanx for info, I thought I'd ask the veterens of some good sites to start with.

you can also look into swedish wool trousers- http://www.armynavysales.com/Merchant2/ ... y_Code=PNT if you really want to do it cheap. The swede wool pants will have cargo pockets that will need to be removed and they will need to be dyed to the right feldgrau color. Properly done though a pair of these would pass reenactment standards. The german wool tunics are a little more difficult to fake. Buying a repro would probably be your best bet. be sure to check out the german uniforms under the third link there. The chinese wool reproductions are extremely affordable. The $140 includes both tunic and trousers I believe. Be wary of their oak leaf pattern smocks and helmet
covers though. Their patten simply doesn't look right.

Shotgun will work.

Best site for WWII impressions:

http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZkeith7524fnlQQhtZ-1

We have ordered several of his uniforms. The only thing on them is that you should reinforce the buttons but they are GREAT! Less then $160 for a complete impression with shipping is unbeatable. His stuff starts at $99 to $140 and he has sizes up to XXXL!!

BUT!

Impressions are included in the event fee! So if you have some stuff then you can bring it and we will make sure you have everything you need. Things like boots, hats, etc are great to bring and make it easier on us.

I noticed in the pic of the guns that will be used, the Kar98k wood stock was darker than a stock Tanaka Kar98k. I tried staining mine darker but it doesn't turn out any darker than when I began. I know this sounds like a dumb question but I'm getting frusterated with the stock. I used walnut oil and dark walnut oil. any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! :D

Schmitty will know more about how to get the guns customized.

This is a prop that Schmitty and I built for our upcoming Carentan game. We built this in two days work, As most of you know Schmitty usually strives for a higher level of authenticity but we where on a limited time frame and I think for what it is I am proud of what we created in such a short time. It does not function, it's just a giant prop. We may make it functional in the future. The wheels came from harbour freight tools. They are meant to be garden art. They look a bit wagonish but they are the correct diameter and early pak40's do have spoked wheels. What do you guys think?

how many uniforms will you have for rent. I wanted to buy an M34 uniform but I'm tight on cash with my student loans kicking my butt. Also do you have direction to get to the field cause I know how to get to vaughn but don't know exactly where to go.

Uniforms are included in the event fee but you need to register for the game and register for the uniform. Make sure you go to our site to do this. You can also click on the "Vaughn, WA" in the WHERE: section and that will take you to directions:
