YP MK23

Postby MJKramer » Tue Jul 19, 2011 11:47 pm

since when i asked this on 1st sword, nobody answered me even to tell me to screw myself... I'll ask here.

Y&P MK23... does anyone have any knowledge of taking it apart and putting an inner barrel of their own in it? I have the barrel I wanna put in it, though its an old AEG barrel. I need some way to make that massive thing worth carrying.

I also need to know how to get the supressor to come apart so I can remove the barrel from it and use it to baffle the sound.

It already has a barrel extension in the suppressor that works pretty dang well (I own 1 TM MK23 and 2 Y&Ps).

No idea how you'd get the barrel out of the suppressor, but it's otherwise fairly simple to put a new inner barrel in a MK23. Break down the gun into the slide and grip, pop the barrel/hop-up assembly out, take that sucker apart and keep your eye on all the little parts (it's not hard) and put the barrel in the same way you would on any other gun. It may be a tight squeeze, but it should work. The external barrel will need to be bored out with a Dremel for the long barrel to fit through it, but voila, you have a MK23 worth fielding.

If I had another Socom to extend, the time, the will, and a camera, I'd make you picture guide, no sweat.

Or you could just take it apart and learn the same way I did. It's really very simple.

I got no reply. not a "I cant help you" or "you have crappy gun, dont upgrade what you have get this fancy 500 dollar thing we all know you cant afford."
however... I am very thankful for the video. google search and youtube searches dont give me much since "YP MK23 Upgrade" can get me "we have them in stock" or "here's more mags" or even "did you know that the Mk23 is vocalized "mark twenty three" and that it makes you have a bigger tool?"

thank you for the video "gude" (I noticed my spelling error).

To take apart the suppressor, you need a hammer, a large slotted screw driver, a vise, and extra cash for when you break it. There is no reason to take it apart. The barrel extension in it is just fine. I use mine stock with .43g bb's, and it out shoots most AEG's...

Ok, with gun FULLY ASSEMBLED:

1)Remove suppressor
2)Remove takedown lever
3)Seperate slide and receiver
4)Pull barrel assembly forward in slide and hold
5)Pull down/out the firing assembly in the back of the slide
6)Slide barrel assembly out the back

NOTE: Steps 4/5 as I've written them may be backwards. I'm going off my memory, and I just got back from a 3 hour drive to Corvallis and back... I also don't have the gun sitting directly in front of me.

Mine

Postby pdx650 » Sat Dec 17, 2011 12:09 pm

Received mine from evike a couple of weeks ago..

And then I promptly painted the frame. I don't like an all-black gun.

Image

I left the slide installed and masked it off, then taped off the hammer, trigger, hammer safeties, muzzle, and removed the magazine, but covered the mag well hole with masking tape too. I removed the slide release/safety before I painted the gun.

Lawls, you have Real player. And Safari. And Firefox. And use WMP.

Ohh and get Trillian. Means you don't need the shitty MSN, Yahoo and AIM clients. Unless you like having 9002 programs on your startbar.

Ahh you bought an HP, it all makes sense now....
