Discuss anything and everything here that's Airsoft related.

Boonie covers actually keep the sun out of your eyes. They are authorized for use overseas tho =)
My sword runs at 450 FPS, try to out run that! 35+ Sword/Knife Kills and counting.

The boonie cover is a field cover, it's not as professional looking in garrison.

Take the old Marpat Tigerstripe and digitize it like the AF did

So the Army should use an idea that the Air Force came up with to use (without really using) the Marine's camoflauge? ;)

No, the Army should use the colors the Marines came up with, and the digital pattern Hyperstealth came up with ;)

Why don't all of our armed forces just use this? ;)

Boonies for the win!

They also keep rain out of your ears and don't bump on rifle scopes.

They'll have to pry my boonie from my cold, dead head right after they take the pistol from the cold, dead fingers.

I used to hate boonies. I still like PCs more, but only because I can ranger roll them and feel special.

Glad I'm not the only one. Though, in theatre our company 1SG said that, "Only Recon can wear boonies!" So we never got to wear them... bastard.

As far as the camouflage issue, I think people are getting a little too caught up in their espirit de corps, and the funding issue. It seems pretty simple to me, use what works.

Unfortunately the wear of the boonie is completely up to the discretion of the individual unit Commands. When I was in Iraq we only got to wear it while building our compound for detainees and then it was back to the PC.

As for camouflage patterns I really don't care what I have to wear at this point. All I care about is how much it costs me to replace them.

Pretty sure there is a bunch of support from the fobbits to keep ACUs.

ACUs really only blend in with gravel. So, about the only place you can effectively hide is inside a motor pool. ACUs are the bane of platoon sergeants everywhere.

Isn't the military supposed to defend our country. I don't think being a fashion statement helps at all.

Actually, it can. Notice that Star Wars stormtroopers wear completely white. They are fearless and have no need to blend in. See? Intimidation. Lookin’ hawt.

Did you ever notice that on Endor, the white armor reflected the natural colors?
