Just worth sharing

Postby AndyC » Fri May 13, 2011 2:11 pm

I'm new here but really like these forums. ALready found tons of useful information. That said -

I run a small youth airsoft group here in NorCal. Our members are 10-15 years old and we meet every weekend at our private field to skirmish. Since there's no fee to join or to play, we rely on sponsors and any donations of gear we can get. Airsplat.com has been great in sending us some springer pistols, BBs, patches and other swag for the kids. The US Army has sent us a huge box of cool stuff every month to use for prizes and awards and such. Well, I own several Cybergun AEGs and have good luck with them over the years. So, I contacted Palco about possibly getting some donations for the group and was totally snubbed and blown-off(no surprise...that's what they do). I then sent a nasty email to the ceo of softairusa telling about our group and what the people over at Palco, their sister company did to us. Sh*t certainly does roll down hill....and with some serious velocity sometimes. I just recieved a phone call from Palco's marketing director. Not only did he apologize for how I was treated, he has sent our kids some gear....here's the list he read to me -

4 King Arms Colt M4A1 AEGS(all metal)
2 Thompson M1A1 AEGs
2 Thompson 1928 AEGs
2 Galil SAR AEGs
1 Pallet of mixed Bone Yard AEGs
Face Masks, Ammo, tactical gear, Batteries and chargers.

WOW.I am completely astonished and my kids are going to sh*t solid gold bricks when they see this gear! And yes, I have a tracking number!
Good things do happen ..once in a while. These kids deserve it.

LOL! I didn't do this for any type of personal gain. Every thing I do for our group is completely for our group. I just got to a point where I was tired of being stonewalled and fed-up with the 'usual channel' BS...and I acted. Until today, I have been buying bone yard guns, the kids help fix them up and that's we have been using in the field, with the exception of the lackluster pistols airsplat sent which are now all broken and being repaired as we go. I'm not ungrateful to airsplat but, these pistols were an odd choice..if not a cheap choice to send. They sure boasted about it on their website though...strange.

good deal man, nice to see the traditionally less respected companies stepping up like that.

although i will say, the king arms M4s are probably junk. they have a pretty bad history of making crappy guns. maybe you'll get some good ones, but id keep a special eye on those if i were you.

Yes, I heard the exact same thing about KA guns. And I will be keeping a very close eye on them. The Thompsons also. Even though they are CYMA, I have a few bad issues with both of mine breaking down. I haven't seen too much regarding the quality of the new Galil SAR though. Anyone know about it?

is it the KA galil? i understand they are alright, but not great. they do work with some AK mags, which is nice. the ICS is supposed to be a lot better.

every king arms gun ive owned has been garbage in a pretty package. i expect the M4s are similar, although not having first hand experience with them i could be wrong.

I've got some spare space here at the house?

That's great stuff. Cool. If there's someone in your group who can fix AEG's that pallet of boneyard guns might be a goldmine.

This, unfortunately. Fragistan's taken to calling their FALs FAiLs due to this. Still, that's quite the package you got there, good news indeed.

LOL May take you up on that!
As for the bone yard stuff, I have spent a lot of time rebuilding broken junk to get it to fire. I'm not too bad at it. Nice thing is that youtube seems to have a tech vid for every gun on the market these days. So, I'll be doing lots of salvage work soon.

Here's the Galil they are sending

Here's the M4A1

Even if they aren't the best, I never look a gift horse in the mouth. My kids will be really happy with these, especially after using second-hand guns for so long.
