CAG April Training [4/30-5/1]

Postby Darius137 » Mon Mar 07, 2011 6:32 pm

Cascadian Airsoft Group (CAG) has a 1-2 day training event every month, focusing on military and infantry-based training for airsofters interested in mil-sim and keeping up on perishable skills.

DATE: April 30th, Saturday to May 1st, Sunday.
TIME: 0900 23APR - 1630 24APR
LOCATION: Camp PLA
The camping near the river is FREE, but it's first come first serve. Redd if you could do like you did last time and post signs to secure our spot for the extra night of camping, that would be glorious.
And don't forget to buy a wilderness pass if you don't already have one. If you are parked on forest land without displaying one you could find a ticket from the sheriff or park ranger on your windshield.

COST: Free.
Cost is free to attend, but you must bring the proper supplies to train. We will be doing some LANDNAV, which means you should bring a compass if you have one. Also we'll be testing out our new HAM net and if you are able to, bring a HAM radio. To use a HAM you must be licensed.
ITINERARY: We will cover the following topics:
    Patrolling
    LANDNAV
    Deliberate Ambush
FTX of patrolling + "battle focused training" (AKA skirmishing with stricter rules)
Use of HAM for Command Net

Waivers will be on site.

Why don't you mark the date on your calendar, and come out and find out for yourself ;).

If I could get a ride from the LO/West Linn area, that would prompt my attendance.

That is kind of on the way to Mt hood from the Beaverton area, so that could be possible. You would need to have all your waivers fill out and such ahead of time of course.

This is a fun field, but it is a higher elevation so bring equipment for possible rain (no snow by then, eh?).

We will be focusing a lot on continuing to work silently and cohesively. We use FRS and TriSquares for intra-squad and our command net is HAM. If you use a HAM you must be a licensed HAM operator.

Is this McNeil?

I MIGHT be down, depending on rides/scheduling. Probably no camping, though.
