Since this is me and my friends first AP game that we are going to I was wondering if I could be taking pictures and videos during games? If yes, I wouldn't care if I would have to sit out for a round to do it just to avoid any confusion of me being hit.

Yup there are always risks but that's one of the ones that I'm fine with and I wasn't worried about my camera getting broken. It's on it's last legs and I rather see it blown to bits by an airsoft gun than it eventually frying itself in the future.
