"Official" announcement: ACU is dead!

Sorry if this has been posted already, but I stumbled across this earlier today. Looks like it was just posted today, so hopefully I'm not double posting.

Anyway, according to: http://www.armytimes.com/news/2010/12/a ... u-121910w/ It looks like the army is OFFICIALLY looking for a new replacement for ACU.

Thank God. Hopefully less people will show up to games in the forest wearing ACUs now.

Meh. If done right, ACU can look good. Now I'm gonna set up a loadout based on it.

ACU is out, and supposedly, they won't be using MC either.

From what I've read, they are looking for a family of camo, not one universal pattern.

Yes, three camo patterns and one color/camo for equipment.

From what they keep telling me at Fort Sam and from back at basic, we'll be getting Multicam, haven't heard anything about this 3 patterns deal.

It says they're using OCP, which is Multicam (Operation enduring freedom Camouflage Pattern).

It's going to be digital. Digital is just the way of the future at this point. Also it's going to have 2-3 different patterns in a family, as you said. No pattern is universal.

I'm going to put my money in on AOR1, Mirage and MARPAT temperate, or something similar.

MARPAT is basically the best temperate pattern available. Others look a lot cooler, and all the brown would seem counterintuitive, but brown is best in a passive camouflage so you can veg out over the top of it with local flora.

Can somebody post that picture of people lined up in a grassy field with different patterns of camoflauge?
