IBH chin strap replacement...

Postby book42 » Mon Nov 22, 2010 1:22 pm

So I got a China knock-off IBH, and I like it. Pads are good, fits well, however, the chin strap, for lack of a better word, sucks. Anyone know where I might be able to find a replacement?

Any help, and or, information will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Those look sweet. Do you have any experience with those chin straps? Is it simple to install them?

Again, thanks for the information.

Yeah, I got one for my Chinese knock-off IBH. Way more comfortable. Extremely easy to install, just take the 4 screws out of your helmet and replace the existing harness with the same orientation. You might consider a trip to ACE hardware to get better screws, though. The ones that come with the helmet are kinda junky.

You can get regular MICH ones for pretty cheap as well.

I have the Oregon Aero kit in my IBH as well and its great.

Hunt on ebay for a pad/strap set. I picked one up for about $30 shipped. The pads that come with those buckets are pretty janky.

i also found some surplus USMC CVC helmet suspensions on ebay for like $15, it went right into my chinese IBH like it was made for it. the only thing i still don't like is the original bolts that hold it in, i'm going to go to ace and get some better ones.
