Thanks!

Here's a shot of the trigger switch assembly, and it's the same in both guns (It's flipped over for the M2).Image

thanks!
Here's a few in-process shots:
Image
Three M2HB's, two are for Colonel Oberon at Nepa-Airsoft. The M1919 (and another) are shipping out this weekend. The third M2HB is mine, all mine! They're all sitting on the ShopBot after a long, HOT day in the garage cutting parts.

Image
A trio of two's...ya know, I still have yet to build a twin setup?
However, one of my customers has done TWO setups!

Image
The thee holes in the receiver front allow the barrel to be trued to the body: up/down, left/right. This was a fixed structure on my old designs. The new layout allows the entire barrel to come off and the receiver to be knocked back down.

Image
With this batch, I've now made over 50 M2HB's. Although I'm probably off on the actual count, I'm going to consider the "keeper" I've made to be THE "50th Fifty". Notice the assembled barrels in the background- these are now the largest parts of the assembly, but weigh half as much as my older designs. While a real Fifty Cal weighs a bundle, these only gain a lot of weight if you add it. Finished weight of the M2HB Model Kit is about 10 lbs.

I kinda have access to CNC but 100% my buddy owns a Hass CNC Mill. Figured I could talk him into making a Full metal M2 or something not sure yet

Harbor Freight ad in the Hotmail box today...
Item 91223, 11,000RPM grinder.
Eighteen measly bux. On the way to get one while another M1919 body kit dries.
http://strangengines.wordpress.com/2008/08/04/the-mccarty-centrifugal-gun/
A kit was ordered yesterday. It ships tomorrow, folks!
By NOT making working airsoft guns, I can FOCUS on super-nice, SOLID Browning Dummys.
And get them SHIPPED, pronto.
I have a standard 2-week to ship now, but will beat that by a mile, you can bet on it.

This is why a freeking TRIPOD will never happen again, ditto ammodrive. Too many people do a better job than myself at actual "AirSmithing", and I admit it.Image

Ian, any thought of doing the M2 as a kit? Perhaps with a precut cradle?

Scroll down on my site, the M2 kit is there. I have the patterns for the cradle I'd include, but not making any more "peripherals".

FOCUS...is on Nice Gun Bodies.Image

Kill, they just made one of those McCarty Centrifugal Guns on Mythbusters. They got it to work mostly. It was very effective up close, not so much at distance.

I'm back in the saddle again...

For airsoft, the centri gun would be about right, though. I'm still drawing parts up...

Stereo-view image.

Image
The cut-down LPEG. Paper towels are to keep out most of the overspray. I stopped myself before I shot paint, tho.

Image
The LPEG gun is held in place by the outer casing- there are no screws to hold it in itself.

Image
Two screws at each end hold the left side plate in place. Here you also get a good look at the BB reservoir.

Image
With the side in place. I'm thinking of also making a snap-in tube so I can either put a stack of BB's on top, or electrically feed it. Gravity only works so good to feed ammo, as any P90 LPEG owner knows. but, this also limits how long the trigger gets held down...plastic gears.

Image
The LPEG's battery case was truncated, and glued to the receiver side.

Image
It's tucked up out of sight, but fully accessible.

Image
Unfortunately, the anti-reverse latch is hanging out, still in it's stock location. I said "still in", because It's gonna get nixxed, moved, or replaced with something clever.

Image
I just don't like it messing up the lines, even if I do plan to hide it in a "Mk46.5" gun mount.

Image
I still have to cut the yokes, and make the grips, then draw up/make the trigger button.

But, orders for Browning bodies have re-stacked, so work precludes further tinkering today. I'm getting most out in 3 days or less, but am getting ready to build up ready stock for immediate shipment. Huge order of raw ABS sheet comes in Monday by truck.

I hope you can tell which one is fullsize...ha! Funny how scale can affect the size of something: The smaller gun is EXACLY one-half the size of the bigger gun, but looks much smaller. The Baby2 that Keeper has is 5/8-scale, bigger than this one. BTW, that's lens distortion you see bending the big gun in this shot- the barrel is fully adjustable to the body, in four axes.

Image
I added a small lug to the bottom of the Micro-M2; it has the Whitworth (1/4-20 for you normal people) thread found under cameras, along with a recess for the alignment pin. This is so I can just use the found-everywhere-for-$19 Velbon 300 series tripod (I'll paint it olive-drab, I swear). At this point, the gearbox sticking out the bottom isn't bothering me enough to lop it off, and it happily clears the tripod.

Image
I varied from my usual generic butterfly trigger, for an even more generic square one. But I got fancy, and added a crosshatch. Note the scored line on top for a rail. I still have yet to cut the 2.5" long wood grips and charge handle. Looks like I should also stick a buffer tube on, too.

Image
The BB-bin. After a few short function tests, I plan to put a hole in the lid, so I can insert a long rigid tube (made from a speed-loader), or connect one of my many M4 mags to it, and just keep re-winding it...

Image
"...adds Class, to any home!"

Image
A stump of old CYMA M14 outer barrel serves as the spine for the front section. This will allow virtually any standard AEG powerplant to be retrofitted. I decided a simple drill pattern would do, but I may poke more holes into it later. Unlike everthing on my full-sized barrels, these holes weren't done by the CNC, and it shows :(

Image
After some sanding, some Olive Drab, and then careful dry-brushing, it should look pretty good with a trained squirrel behind it.

Gigantic News!!!

The Tripod conundrum (just where do I get a tripod, since Killbucket doesn't make or include them anymore) is finally solved...a Heavy-Duty adapter that just goes right onto a standard photo tripod of any size or make! I'm using a $19 Velbon CX300, and it works great.
