Concerns and ideas about Zombie Apocalypse 2010

Discuss anything and everything here that's Airsoft related.

I dont think saftey kills work in a zombie game. Considering that they have to tag you and if your about to be tagged then all you have to do is yell saftey kill to drop the zombie that's coming after you.

Sounds reasonable.

Not really. As a zombie, I really don't wanna get hit with anything over 300. If there are rules, say, barring headshots on zombies (or making them not count) then I might be in. I'd break the zombie Jesus shirt out.
That's too bad for you, as most Zombie games have been 330, since that's the indoor limit and is considerably kinder on the skin than 400.

I've played 350 fps CQB. Couldn't tell the difference between that and 330. Since it's outdoor, I think 350 is a nice balance.

1.) the zombies can wear a mask, since zombies are only supposed to go down with headshots (its one of the main rules of zombie killing).

2.) you guys should be ashamed of yourselves, you should enjoy being shot by bbs at 400fps, just wear a paintball mask if you are a zombie to protect your beautiful face, and dont worry about anything else getting shot, if you cant deal with pain of 400fps plastic surgery, dont be a zombie.
YOU SIR!!!!...... DO NOT HAVE ANY PANCAKE MIX!

Edit: seems I'm acting on information for a 17 year old dumbass.

I'll wait to see what the official version of it is.

Is the event promoter enforcing a headshots only rule, or is it one safety-retarded poster?

Junto, seems to be a retarded 17 year old (redundant I know). However, I have yet to actually see rules regarding killing of the zombies.

The FPS has been downgraded to 350, which I feel is still to high. I've seen bb's get embedded into skin from 10' away being shot out of guns shooting under 300fps.

There has to be an accepted level of risk. It's airsoft and it involves getting covered in little red marks left by 6mm projectiles. You acted at Night 2 and that was 330. What has changed since then? Even if they drop it 20 FPS it still sounds like many people want the game to be under 300fps, which is kind of ludicrous. The only reason I have a gun that shoots under 300 is because it's a 5 year old TM with stock internals.

a lot of these people have not been to a real cqb event. So forgive them for they know not what they say. 350 is just fine for indoors and 400 just makes you stronger. I feel that some of the people that are complaining about fps. might want to look in to laser tag. But really folks yeah 350 if fine i have played it before and it just makes you want to be that much better. pad up and roll out if ya got to.

Not wanting to get railed by a gun shooting 400 FPS at point blank distances isn't a question of "being a cute kitty and can't handle the pain" or some such BS, its a matter of safety. Its a zombie game, so people will freak out (just ask Bad Karma about Dead by Dawn ;) and in freaking out, you tend to lay heavy into the trigger. If I'm signing on to act in something, I understand the risk of it, but I'd want to keep as many risks out of the whole thing.

The other and bigger issue in my eyes is the game going down during daylight hours. 90% of the fun/excitement of a zombie game is playing in the dark and not knowing whats going on where the lights aren't. Playing during the day will make it next to impossible to sneak up on players, which means it'll turn into a shooting range on all the zombies.

I've done CQB at 450 FPS. It's fine. Yeah, it leaves marks, but it's not fatal. Yes, full face protection is a good idea, but it flat-out always is a good idea anyway. And the little extra sting teaches you not to screw up the same way twice.

That being said: 400 FPS is all sorts of overkill when you are shooting at someone who can't shoot back. The flight time decrease and flatter trajectory of the faster pellet are simply not nearly as relevant when you are engaging "zombie" actors. I'm pretty sure you could take one of the gawdawful TM mini-aegs that ran permanently on full-auto on AA batteries at about the velocity that I piss and do okay with it. Running a box-magged, overaccessorized, TBB rapegun at 35+ shots a second at 400 fps against shambling hordes is overkill. (M203's, on the other hand, are just plain funny as long as the velocity on the cloud of pellets is low).

330 fps or under would work fine for me. As long as the "zombies" were wearing full face protection. My fight/flight reflex is wired into shooting for the head when spooked, and I don't always manage to fight it down in time. I'd be pretty bummed out if I ripped up someone's face when they can't shoot back. That's just unsporting.

I for one agree 100% with the Jew...which is unheard of by all standards, but hes right. Night 2 was so much fun almost purely on the lack of light. Well ok that and Ben walking around shouting "Yup that will happen!" after every kill helped too. :p
I believe what ever doesn't kill you simply makes you...stranger!
