With the unfortunate shutdown of CAGE, Portland has been left without a CQC facility. Even if the fire marshalls didn't shut down CAGE, the owner's later IRS tax fraud and deportation would have shut down the building anyways.
BUT,
I was wondering what the interest was in the community about making a one day trip to Tacoma Tactical. It's about a 2-2.5 hour trip from downtown Portland.
The current idea for the next CQB Training would be Private Security Details (PSD) and protecting VIP's.
We'd be using Zaki again--former Israeli Special Forces guy with 12 tours and cross training with everyone from SEALs to MacGruber. The first one was just basic Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT) and a slight variation on what the US Doctrine is of Battle Drill 6: Enter Building / Clear Room. It's taught to most regular army units. PSD is more for Contractors and SOCOM type units, and so I think would be a bit more interesting to the Airsoft Crowd.
Using TacTac, we'd have to rent out the facilities, as well as pay Zaki. The individual price would come out to $25 a person. Who would come out to that? What would be the highest you'd pay to come out to something like this if it was available? What would you like to learn (Zaki's a wealth of information. We could even do Bus hostage situations using dirtbikes and pryo if we had the right space for it, but alas, no).
