I think this would make a great project. Really would be an awesome CQB gun. It doesn't look TO hard, and that's good considering I haven't done any real custom work on any of my guns.

I have an Echo 1 416, so I already have what would be my base gun.

The hard part here would the stock. I'm guessing i'd have to use PVC pipe for the stock tube, and as for the actual stock I have no idea.

Suggestions?

http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.p ... ts_id=5244 - look at something like that for the stock. Add a pad to the wire stock and you're golden.

Problem is the tubing on the receiver for the stock when it's collapsed. For that you are looking at custom work. If you get a very experienced welder they could probably weld the tubes on there though.

On the actual pics from H&K though (through the link) they don't show any tubing guarding the stock on the receiver. Wonder if that was taken away or added during development...

PVC isn't going to work, even if you could find some in that small of size it would be way to weak. Some regualar steel rod would work well, and just use some wood, or buy some ABS or something from TAPS for the stock plate. The hard part would be the mount to the gun. It can be done, but it would take some hard thinking and fabricating

On one hand, I want to punch babies now. On the other, its not SUCH a bad idea. Short barrel, a truly collapsible stock, would make a pretty good CQC/PSD/Car gun.

But it looks like the product of an MP5 and the HK416 having sloppy drunken hobosex, and then getting an abortion. With a coathanger.

Going by the very rough looking picture in the OP, and the very slick and polished look on the HK website, I'm guessing the OP was a development mule. It didn't have to be pretty, it just had to function.

Yeah, I wonder how that tubing stays stabilized when partial collapsed though. Seems like it was be flexing a bit and bouncing around on the receiver. There is a collar at the front of the H&K pic, but I don't know if thats attached the to stock tubes or not. Makes me wonder how adjustable the stock is and if it's not just all the way in or all the way out.

You could try a stock from the ICS CXP for starters, but it looks a bit too off.
