Review of Indoor Arena in Hillsboro?

Discuss anything and everything here that's Airsoft related.

The Arena is small, and is set up much like a speed ball course... However it is an indoor arena that you can shoot in and can be useful for training purposes.

That's the problem with most arenas. They are either too "speedball" or they are full buildings that get old after a while because they never change. My favorite indoor spot to play Airsoft was Strike Zone, by far, but I would still only have given it a 7 out of 10 on the coolness factor. CAGE was a close second, but only when the whole building was being used.

I'd tell you exactly why I hate that place and why I would never even step in the door but, I don't want to get sued.

If you're training for speedball, perhaps.

its sad that SOTA is paying terry money to train there. i would much rather save the cash and do glass house work in someones back yard. corner fed and center fed rooms are so easy. and by the look of the website....he has done nothing to make that place better....its S4 with his lame a$$ name on it.

We don't typically train in the arena. We do movement exercises throughout the entire building, which is just like any other office building and therefore practical for improving CQC experience. Stacking on a wall and stacking on masking tape on the floor are very different things. Terry has not treated SOTA poorly or exhibited any unethical business practices in our presence, he has honored or beat S4's rates for renting the building, and there is currently no other indoor structure where we can train regularly, so I'm failing to see why we shouldn't give him our business? Just because some well-known AP chairsofters claim they got their feelings hurt by him are not reason enough.

You want to dissuade people from giving him business? Then present a logical, fact-based argument against him.

Ethics. Some people have them. Some people don't.

Again, I'll ask for someone within the little inner-circle here to point out these glaring ethical problems that I seem to be missing? Because Terry seems cordial enough, offers us a competitive rate for training, and has done nothing to offend my sensibilities or those of my team. I shouldn't give him business because a few AP bigwigs said I shouldn't without any mention of why not other than vaguely mentioning his lack of "ethics" in passing?

The burden of proof is on you.

EDIT: I'm also not defending Terry. I've only met him once or twice, and certainly don't know him. But if you're going to call someone a jank, you'd better have some good reasoning behind doing so if you want that opinion to resonate as anything more substantial than him having put you off.

Weird that you thought this was directed at you.... I do have good reason for my opinion. I'll be happy to tell you in person any time janks. Like I said earlier... I don't want to get sued. (it seems this is the way Terry get's what he wants)

Duly noted. We haven't BSed over Whiskey and Rockstar at tool's place in a while, anyways. We're overdue for a bonfire.

Please don't revisit this thread

Anyways, the only thing I have to say about the new place is that the owner (Terry, correct me if I'm wrong) is a pretty nice guy. I went in there one day to check it out and meet him and must say that it has actually improved a bit. I heard the arena layout reeks, but that can always be changed.
