Postby Teleavenger » Fri Dec 04, 2009 11:44 pm

hey,

so i was interested in turning my JG m4 s-system 2009 enhanced into more of a marksman long range rifle , any suggestions, e.g. specific barrel, scope, thanks a bunch!

what you could do is add a supressor that is hollow, allowing you to buy a longer tightbore barrel for your rifle and having it concealed in your silencer.

That's how you do it, right there. I'd get a scope with maybe 3-4x magnification, since airsoft really, really doesn't get to very long ranges at all. You don't have to buy an ACOG unless you want to be tacticool and super milsim, but it would be a scope that would do the job. Most of all with your scope and longer barrel, sight it in and practice at different ranges. You don't want to be wasting ammo on targets that you cannot hit or suppress effectively.

Remember to replace your cylinder for the longer barrel.

is this needed? i know this is an old topic but i didnt know you needed a new cylinder for longer barrels. and would i need a new cylinder for a 509mm barrel in a classic army m15a4? i allready have a systema area 1000 teflon cylinder in it. is that good enough?

The reason for the swap is that in order to compensate for the increase in volume inside the inner barrel, you need to increase it in the cylinder. Switching to an unported cylinder does this.

I did this to mine awhile ago, turned out quite well.
Didn't upgrade the cylinder in mine, since I planned on getting a separate barrel for CQC, and the Guarder M110 spring works fine. I'm getting 380-382 FPS with the 510mm tightbore (6.03) and 310-315 with the normal length/bore barrel. Rewired to the rear and using a full stock, the battery in the hand guard was a pain.

Sorry about the blurry pics, not using my normal camera.

I'm using a 4x32 scope on it and it seems to work pretty well for the range I'm getting (~165+ ft).

Image
The 510 mm tightbore sticks out from the barrel (obviously) so using a suppressor to hide it works well. I have a Madbull G5 QD suppressor on mine.

The barrel, Madbull "Black Python" type II.

Also, there is no mag catch installed right now (I just took the pics) because I'm waiting to get an ambidextrous one.
