U.S. Army ISAF Loadout

Discussion of load-bearing equipment, tactical gear, holsters, BDUs, and other gear related to Airsoft.

In some FOBs and OPs you'd be required to wear body armor, but wouldn't need to carry your mags.

The soldier shaking hands, Is is uniform dyed or is that a standard color?
Sorry if that sounds like a dumb question but most of my knowledge for that kind of thing is around WW2. I like that every one seemed to learn from the Krauts over time that the old dot camo is really super effective and has adapted it their own way.

You mean just like patrolling the outer sections/cordons? Or the inner sections? Where you'd be close to your gear but wouldn't need to wear it?

Yes they wear Multicam now in Afghanistan, BUT his original post said he was reproducing Afghan loadouts from 2008, so the IOTV, the ACU's, are still worn.

BTW, it is official that they are starting to field the KDH, although from what I'm hearing, Soldiers have a few issues with them. Mainly, all the weight is on the shoulders, there is no cummerbund to speak of, and the side plates do not cover enough of the vitals.

Here's the .pdf on the carrier.

The chest rig that was pictured in Catch22's post is the Tactical Assault Platform in multicam.

I know. I'm saying the one I posted is good enough for an impression because, as far as I know, the TAP isn't commercially available yet.

Oh sorry then.

Has anybody seen this episode defense news?
