Discussion of GBB (gas blowback) replicas.

pistol? more like a hunk of metal hell

Postby Patrick750 » Mon May 24, 2010 5:17 pm

My KWA m9 ptp has been the worst airsoft gun I have ever owned. My CA sportline has out lived this gun. It has problems I didn't know existed in a gas gun. Hopefully you guys can tell me if it's even worth taking to a shop or if I should scrap it and buy a new pistol.

The trigger on the gun is loose as in nothing keeps it forward to be shot again, once I pull the trigger I have to flick it back into place to pull it again. After opening the gun I found that the springs that pull the trigger into a firing position are broken. It seems like an easy fix but whatever. The mag also leaks, i took it to a shop and they said they fixed the leaking problem. Well apparently not. ALSO when I fill the mag with gas and pull back the slide the gun will expell all the gas by shooting in full auto. The slide doesn't lock back when there are no bb's like it's supposed to. I don't even have to pull the trigger. when the slide slides forward it shoots out all the gas in a full auto fury. The first time i found this out i nearly pissed my pants it was so unexpected and scary. I can try to show you guys VIA youtube of all the problems if you want.

Please help. I've spent $170 on this gun. Worst gun I have ever handled.

KWA makes some of the best pistols.
Either you got a lemon.
or
You upsidedown it up.

There should also be a spring on the right side under the hand grip that pushes the arm to reset the trigger back in place. It is the most easily lost part on any M9 replica, and is likely what you're missing.

they make awesome pistols, except mine. i've never abused my pistol. although my friends dry fire the hell out of it because it looks and feels real. it should, it's a 1:1 replica for size and weight.

... You don't dry fire airsoft replicas, real guns also. It ruins the springs and such inside them, when it shoots it doesn't have anything to hit and it goes full force foward. Kwa makes the best pistols. You probably just screwed yours up. If you care about it, go to airsoftoutletnw and ask them how much to fix it. All you can do.

WHile I agree that the OP probably upsidedown his gun in the a$$...

I will say I have been more then disappointed with my KWA PTP 226. I've had 3 parts break on mine, one twice. My magazine feed lips exploded off in about 10 pieces, the blow back chamber fractured twice, and the take down lever snapped. KWA support has been decent, but not amazing like I've heard. I've been more impressed with my $40 Y&P Mk23, or my KWA USPc (old style).

You upsidedown up your own gun, and you're now going to stay away from the company that made it? Okay, that makes a a lot of sense.

I loathed mine, my local shop (they are a sketchy bunch down there at best) failed to fix it and after several attempts to sell it it has become a wall hanger. Worst $175 ever spent...

<3 my $100 KJW 1911 and that thing is indestructable.

To all who havent serviced a KWA m9, these things are internally junk, if it breaks, it's done.

Man you are a spoiled brat. First you get a KWA M9 and upsidedown it up then denounce all KWAs in its glory and now you beg mommy for a WE; one of the problem child prone to getting upsidedown up even easier. How long did your M9 last? Your 1911 will probably last 1/10th as long if your lucky...

BTW I want to clarify as in dry firing you were filling the gas mags with no ammo and just firing them while loaded with gas? Or were you and your friends just pulling the trigger with no propane/ammo loaded?

2 companies make the best M9. KJW and TM. You fail for not buying either of those.

I agree, the KWA M9's are not the best M9's out there, my Old TM M9 was a trooper....until the slide cracked.

But KWA Is not as bad as you say, i have had the KWA USP .45 Full Size for over a year now and it has never failed to fire, never had problems

Good luck on that WE Tech. prefer those over the Western Arms One
