Why are people hatin' on hicaps?

Discuss anything and everything here that's Airsoft related.

Karma, you're being dense. He said the one in the gun rattles.

Yes, even with the attention span of Karma--or the average 13 year old--you could figure it out. It's pretty obvious.

Bring your rifle to shop, check their fit. See, easy.

Now, quit bitching and man up. Midcaps!

MAG mids only feed on auto in my KWA M16BR. They work fine in my CA M4. My S-Arms mids work perfectly in the KWA, don't work in the CA. It's a good idea to try mags before you buy a bunch of them.

On topic, hicaps have their place. On the fields I play the temps can easily hit 110+ from July through October. The rest of the year I'll play with a plate carrier and bunch of midcaps, but in summer I run with a hydration bladder and 1-2 high caps, one stuck in a pocket somewhere.

The rattle can suck, but really, what makes more noise, a few BB's, or a bunch of 35+, out of shape airsofters running up a hill? If you're moving on the sneak, your BB's probably won't rattle. If they do, you ain't really sneaking.

Weird. They work fine in mine--both my KWAs. Again, take your rifle to the store with you and check.

If you want to run hicaps, that's your prerogative. When I play airsoft, I enjoy being as realistic as I can, which means that I run a full loadout of real-cap or mid-cap magazines, even at games where hi-caps are permitted. Shot placement, trigger control and a well-tuned gun will marginalize any differences. I appreciate it when other players are similarly devoted to a realistic style of play.

So are paintball guns, and when realism is taken out of the equation, the two are nearly indistinguishable.

So what might one reason we chose airsoft over paintball be? Could it be a semblance of realism?

I own both the M16BR and the SR12, but all their m4/m16 bodies are the same. Further the new one--the SR12--seems more forgiving in regards to mags.

Freedom of choice.

Run midcaps and you can play in nearly all games.
Run High caps and you'll be excluded from some games.
Run Standards and you can play in all games.

If you don't like a given game's ruleset or cannot meet the requirements then don't attend. Pretty bleeding simple.
This community has become pretty spoiled. I remember when we were lucky to have one game in a month. Now days we have multiple events on any given weekend.
Attend what you like. Avoid what you don't.

Where the hell does this sense of entitlement come from?

This is a free country.
You are "free" to choose to attend or not attend. You are also "free" (unfortunately) to phony pony about your choices. Thankfully I am "free" to phony pony about your bitching. :D
