The British Invasion (nothing to do with Rock and Roll)

Postby Juicemachine » Sat May 01, 2010 11:07 am

The British are Coming!

Precis:
They finally did it. They got their revenge. The Brits have begun their assault on our homeland, our America. This is hardly a new thing for them, but it's different this time; this time they're not alone. With them, our "neighbors" across the Atlantic have brought forces from Germany, Italy, Russia, Japan, and virtually every other country the US has pissed off over the years. These countries sent representatives to meet in a high-security conference in Rome, where it was decided to act immediately, and without remorse.
The first step, and the kickoff of the invasion was to pummel Ellis Island with artillery, followed by rapid erection of near-impenetrable defenses over the pile of rubble that was once our Lady Liberty. From there, with an FOB firmly in place, they quickly took New York. They immediately disarmed all citizens living there, as well as all police, to ensure that there wouldn't be even a hope of resistance. From there, they overtook Maine and most of New England relatively easily, displacing millions of innocent Americans.
The invaders are now on a southwards course, undoubtedly on their way to out nation's capitol. If they are allowed to reach it, they will ravage and destroy it yet again, crushing out nation's spirit. If they can do this, they will barely even have a fight ahead of them. They will take the East Coast with ease, then gradually move west. Our farms, our people, our heritage, all will be taken by this oppressive enemy. Millions will be displaced, all will despair, and out country as we know it will be no more. Under the Queen's iron-fisted rule, we will face tyranny, oppression, infringement upon our god-given rights, and, worst of all, bad teeth.

What: Fun, lighthearted skirm.
When: Saturday, June 19th. 1000 hours. Be on time.
Where: Wolf Creek
Who: Anyone competent enough not to get thrown out.
Price: $5 at the door.

Timeline:
0900: Show up
1000: Briefing
1030: Round 1 begins
1230: Break for lunch
1330: Round 2 begins
1530: Round 2 ends
1600: Round 3 begins
1800: Endex

Gameplay:

Game type: Basic sector control. There will be a variety of sectors up for capture, with point values for each sector dependent on the location relative to the capturing team's spawn. Points will be awarded approximately every 30 minutes, and will only be awarded if the sector is completely under control, with only capturing team members within 20 yards of the flag.

Respawn Rules: Fireteam-based respawn. You will form up into 4-5 man groups, and none of you can respawn until you are all back at your spawn point. Team members are allowed to go back to respawn if desired, to speed up the respawn process.

Hit Rules: A hit to any part of your body is a death. Gun hits don't count, nor do ricochets.

Grenade Rules: Grenades can be mock rubber ones, make noise, or fire bbs. If a grenade lands within 10 feet of you, you're dead. If it lands in a building or behind cover, and you're in the same building or behind the same cover, you're dead. The preceding applies to all grenades, however, if it is a BB-firing one, and the BB goes out farther than 10 feet and hits you, you're out. Diving on grenades: Don't do it.

Mag Rules: To make this a more realistic game, yet keep it all-inclusive, players are entitled to one high-cap mag (no box mags on non-SAW weapons) or as many mid/lowcaps as they please.

FPS Limits:
Standard AP rules There will be a waiver to be signed; we are working on getting a copy online.

Other funny stuff:
Points and scoring: You can use your points to buy various in-game items and abilities. These will be listed as follows, but there may be more on game day. You never know. The winner of the game will be the team in the end with the most points, so be careful buying things. Things like the following list:
Airstrikes: There is already artillery dialed in on the roads, making it impossible for people to stay on them for long time periods, but you can have more. In return for some points, you can call in air strike on any enemy position, eliminating all forces (friendly or not) in the immediate area.
Ammo Resupplies: For another nominal fee, you can have a few admins bring ammo (which you will mark with your individual name) to any position you like, to facilitate field reloading).
Armory: At the start of the game, there is no reloading permitted, at base or elsewhere. Carrying loose ammo on your person is prohibited. If you buy this, players on your team may reload at respawn when dead.

Side Designations:
National Guard: ACU, Multicam, Woodland, MARPAT, other currently in-service US camouflage
Invading Forces: Anything else.
