How paranoid should I be about dirty/wet bbs?

I recently picked some off of a table outside where I was shooting. They were slightly dirty (some dirt particles)
I used them in my gun, or at least, put them back into my high-cap...

Common sense, does it seem okay to you to use dirty, wet, or re-used BB's?

If you're running a stock Cyma or whatever, just let them dry and eyeball them to see if you can get them fairly clean. I wouldn't suggest it, but for the most part low end guns are incredibly un-picky about ammunition and can take a bit of dirt. Just make sure to swab out your barrel afterwards. Still, I've only done this with minorly dirty BBs. If you can see the dirt sticking on them, toss them. If it's sitting in the pile, you can pick around it.

If you're running a tight tolerance rig, don't even try, ESPECIALLY with tightbores. You run the chance of exploding your internals when it jams.

This. Also, they'll shazaam up your highcap too. Just don't. New bb's out of the bag. Used bb's are only good for foot massages, and grenades/claymores.

If they are dirty,then the dirt could enter your AEG. I recommend not using them. Did you clean them before putting them into your high cap?If you do end up using them,make sure you clean the AEG after use. For most weapons dirt/water=bad.

okay, I never reuse bbs, but sometimes i drop some...

Once you drop them treat them as if you shot them. BB's come out of a bag and if the are not there they are in the Magazine or in the garbage.
Just play it safe with your gear and buy new bb's not the place to be frugal.

I can't count the number of hi-caps, mine or other peoples, that have been upsidedown up by having pieces of dirt, pine needles, the top staple from the BB bag, broken bits of plastic... etc. Don't do it.

think of them as live ammunition. once you shot them, your done, there's no money saving tactic when using bb's. except maybe using semi and short bursts

I look at it like this...you can buy around 14,000 bb's for $50. An airsmith will likely charge you the same in labor alone to fix your broken aeg.
What would you rather spend your money on?

You save a couple buck on BB's but you do 50 to 100 bucks worth of damage . Did you save any money ?? Now you know .
