Lame. Sorry to hear that.

He should have put it in better packaging. The whole holster thing sounds pretty a$$ backwards to me too.

Be careful with paypal too. I recently tried to contest a purchase that was never shipped or acknowledged by the seller. Pay pal blew smoke at me. I am $50 smarter now.

Either of you can complain to the post office, but as far as I know USPS offers NO protection at all if you don't ask for insurance. So, it probably fell out of the package and scared the shit out of some postal worker - or, he tried to go postal on his co-workers only to realize it was fake, then he turned the gun on himself, once again, realizing it was fake. Either way, said postal worker is only working hard enough just not to get fired from his job, so fixing your package or putting it back together would have been going the extra mile, which is something our government employees do not do.

You should get his information from the mo place and contact his father to tell him about the problem. If the kids age is correct on the site then he definitely lives at home.

I'm sorry....My issue with this is going to post office with something that looks awfully like a gun, and asking them to ship it. So then they just stick it in an envelope and with no packing or anything. Just doesn't jive if you ask me....and yes, I just used the word jive.

I find this extremely disturbing. The fact that he went and SHOWED IT to the post office and had them ship it. He apparently took the slide off to show it was fake, this is scary. Not all postal workers are wise when it comes to guns. They won't know the difference between the insides of a real steel pistol and a fake one. Even if he did allow them to ship it, in a envelope? This is bullshit. He had to have just shoved it in an envelope, because he was to cheap to even put it in a flat rate box, and try to mail it without them noticing what is inside.

Damn, even our local eBay wizard thinks that it's messed up. I guarantee that the local usps did not pack and ship an item for someone else because they don't provide that service. They don't handle your items for you, they have to be already packaged for them to ship. This is what I have been told by postal employees.

The 'USPS guy packaged it for me' part sounds off. They won't and don't, unless you happen to live in a very small town with a USPS worker who isn't busy and isn't bored and happens to like you.

Agreed, the whole thing sounds a bit fishy as if he just mailed you a ripped envelope almost knowing theres nothing that can be done. He probably waited for your money order to arrive cashed it and then sent you the empty envelope. USPS would never take a gun real or fake lightly in a post office......they have a ton of money in post offices, thats why firearms are prohibited in post offices, and any other federal building. It would be the same thing as carrying one into a bank or 7-11, it would have caused a huge commotion. Not only that but its entirely true that they will not package an item for you due to liability reasons. They will tell you when you need more tape on your box, thats about as far as they go with helping out.
