ok, soo.... I have a question

Postby Sonic » Fri Mar 05, 2010 2:08 am

ok I was at a field and decided to take pictures. So I put on some bright orange stuff and was watching the game when at the very end (last guy on half a team) there was this guy who got hit in the stomach and didn't call it, so I told him he got hit and he got in my face saying I'm a liar. Then when my friend told the guy to get out of my face he started taking his gear off trying to fight my friend saying that if he wants to do something, to do it.
I have decided to not play there because when the guy was in my face he said that he only calls hits that he feels, BUT HE WEARS A TAC. VEST!
besides that, my friend was the last guy on that team and got killed right after the guy got hit, so the game was technically over I guess, so the freakout was unnecassary, and they still won.

here's the questions:
1. how would you handle that situation?
2. am I in the wrong for telling him that?
at first I thought shooting people with BB guns was violent, cruel, and demeening to the loser.
I later found out that it is all of that and much more.

You did the right thing. He's a cheating shazaam. If you think you feel it, or think you hear it, you ought to call it. And if he's willing to throw down because someone told him to call a hit in an airsoft game he probably shouldn't be involved in a high-conflict sport.

Last I saw and have read fighting or intimidating on the most fields around here is grounds to be kicked off the field. I would have taken it to admin.

thank you!
I am on a team forum for a local team here in WA and posted on a thread about it and the mod deleted it calling it graffiti about another team, just cause I mentioned the team the guy is on. and the only reason I mentioned the team is cause saying "a guy" is too general and it could mean anyone on the field that day.

People can be kicked out of skirms for fighting. It doesn't matter. You fight, you leave.

What team was it?

Also, if a team accepts this sort of thing, it's probably not the group you want to play with. Find a different group to play with.

It wise to say who the team or player is (real name or callsign on here or other forums), this cheater/hacker needs to realize its not okay and should be dealt with, or at least on a shit list so if it happens again Admins or game host will know and not allow that person to play or come on the field.

really.

+1. This is one of the reasons that airsoft intrigued me in the first place. The honor and integrity to call hits without needing a paint marker to show that you were hit. My experience so far has been nothing but good sportsmanship all the way around. In fact, that is one of the first things I brag about when telling someone about airsoft. As Pharaoh7 said, I commend you as well for doing what you did. Too bad the other players on the field didn't see it that way.

You did the right thing.

#1 Does this team or person frequent AP events? Because if they do or he does, this community needs to know because we don't put up with this type of attitude or response to being told they were "hit".

#2 Your team forum mods need to find out what happened and not just delete the post. If it in fact was something as you described, your team leadership needs to address the issue.

#3 Senior member or not, that attitude is something that needs to be delt with. Attempting to start a fight because of being hit shows what type of player he is.

We had a guy like that about a year ago not calling his hits we had an admin walking around the field told him he was hit and started cusing at the admin F you this F you that so we banned the guy from the field. he then started saying you cant make me leave he dint know that the Redding Airsoft Team owns the field we play on so we just had the Redding PD come down and remove him. players like that we dont need in this sport thay are just bad news.

so i say to good job for doing the right thing if you see someone get hit and thay dont call it let him know. sometimes you dont fell it like if you get hit in the back of your vest.

Nothing else to say until you post again, but I will reinforce the statement that you did the right thing, because you did. Kudos, dude.
