GBB magazine takedown

Postby ogrejager » Tue Feb 23, 2010 4:13 pm

Details: KWA M9 extended NS2 magazine.

So the damn thing came leaking from the fill valve. I hear this is not uncommon. So, I pulled the plate off to bottom and unscrewed the valve (#111). I lubed it and reassembled it. Still leaks.

I figure the next step is to remove parts 929, 906 and 908 and lube 908.

How do I get those pieces out? I've tried prying them up, shaking the mag, etcetera. What boneheadedly simple step am I missing?

Did you punch out the 2 pins on the base of the mag? They lock part 929 into the mag body.

No.

Thank you. Told you it was boneheadedly easy. Those parts are not on the schematic for the extended mag, although now I see 'em on the regular one.

I'm assuming you removed the pins from it?

I would try taking a hook and probe set, use the 90 degree one in this picture to pull it out.

Have you tried teflon tape in the threads?

Edit: Jester beat me to it.

They probably assume that you'll see the holes for them that are covered by the base plate. Goes to show why you should never assume something will be seen on a diagram.

I'll be a sonofabitch. It doesn't leak anymore.

Thanks again, thread over.
