I don't know who participated, but one of the great moments of the game was a knife fight at the bottom of the axis CP hill. The axis fighter won, but it was an entertaining 10 seconds!

BSP... You guys have put on another kick a$$ event. Everytime they get better. Thanks again for the loaner when my gun went down.

Ash - thanks for squaring away accomodations and gear.

It was great to see everyone again. I'm at PDX right waiting for my flight to finish up this turn and burn trip back to South Carolina.

5500 mile trip, 9 hours sleep over three days, 37 hours in the great state of Oregon...... All to take the field with my brothers in plastic death.... Priceless.

Best part of the day was right at the beginning. Mack and I had cronoed, adjusted our hop ups, and were sighting in................and both our batterys died maybe 2 minutes to combat.

He flew across the United States to have his battery die first thing at game time, smoke break.....

We took it in stride borrowed some rental guns and killed fools anyways :D

I saw nothing but exemplary sportsmanship out there. If there was hacking, I didn't see it since I kept shooting until I saw a red rag or someone walking away with their gun in the air.

Big thanks to the guys in the camper that were kind enough to charge my battery. Maybe next game I'll spend a little less time being drunk at Elmers the night before and ordering 20 tacos from Jack in the Box, and take the time to make sure my charger still functions

Great field, Great Game. Can't wait for a dry day out there.

Oh yeah, best pic. Rick yells out "GIVE ME A COMBAT POSE!!" LOL

That was Solid.

The only combat I saw the whole game was two SOF teams coming up behind us at the spawn, and the knife fight. Everyone got around in a circle and followed the "knife fight rules", and it was glorious.

wooooo i stayed up an extra hour just to wade through all that crap of about 10 pgs BUT here is what i got to say.

BSP, you guys are upstanding people, made a good game, worked with the weather, and i had a pleasant chat with on of you (whose name i missed and chair i "stole") under the trap at the "talk" as you kiddos were calling it and look forward to playing at your events in the future

NATO, what action i did see from you guys (which wasn't much due to the unique situation i seemed to end up in at the game) was good, you guys had your shit down pat and you nailed me every time i tried running forward to a new position (also whoever got me when i made a run for the white bag thing at the crossroads, when i saw you pop outta there I shit my pants, and if i dident shit then i did when you lit me up and i got 7 rounds on the inner thigh, i limped back to spawn)

AXIS, we had fun did we naught? i spent a lot of my time walking and running places and ended up squatting under a tree trying to not collapse but i got up eventually haha.

Overall, lets play again sometime guys, we are all good people (atleast in person) and we like playing, we like shooting eachother, lets just get along and if someone decided they need to put others down for not cleaning up their camp or w/e (while they stayed in a hotel) then lets do the adult thing and ignore it, if it makes you feel better to rage at them, do it one on one so nobody else gets dragged in.

well shit that whole last paragraph could go under the title of "drama" if its too much Seagreen then let me know and i'll just let it go, but I just wanted to get that out...

see you guys at the next shootout,
-Byrd

my favorit moment was when Token came back to the cp to reload. we were talking about my kill count, he couldnt believe that any NATO had gotten up that far, and before he could say anything else he yelled "oh shit"! and promptly started to fire at the small NATO fire team that had came from behind us! we both took them all out! it was good times!

good times

Postby redd » Tue Jan 19, 2010 2:06 am

ok, onto the game play:

I had the privledge of helping seagreen setup the field on saturday, I heard the plans and objectives that he had. I loved how the game was setup, and except for me , my team leader and the rest of the lucky 13th chasing some nato guys out of bounds, where they stayed and took potshots at us until we realized that we were out as well, the sportsmanship was unbeatable. Tombstone, it was a pleasure to see you in action, and be able to stand up and fight, instead of being a little pansy like your character called for at the zombie hunt, (more good times). Bad Karma, Major kudos for getting up behind us, (axis) . when me and the rest of the 13th came up behind you, and we called truce ( or the admin did, i dunno) I was majorly impressed by your sneaky bastard qualities. I loved playing on the field, and myself being a sneaky bastard for the axis had to go for a swim over seven times to complete my objectives. being behind enemy lines I saw fantastic coordination on the part of nato, that i didn't see as much of on my team, Nato guys, your team was organized, informed, and worked like an organic team.I'm very impressed. And i cannot say it enough times how good i thought the sportsmanship was. seagreen set up a great scenario, but it was the good play and the good sportsmanship that made it a great game!! KUDOS TO ALL WHO PARTICIPATED!!! :D

Redd (and all who are wondering), the SF team that came up behind the Axis CP, never went out of bounds. We looked at 2 maps, and a GPS unit. According to those, we never went out of bounds. We were right on the edge, but never across it. After we dropped between the forest and the vineyard and you guys came down, we heard you yelling at another person/persons. We had ducked south back into the thick forest. We then crept up the river to the west of the Axis CP, before finally advancing up the hill to assault.

You know i really have no idea, even with my 9x scope i couldn't ID a face, i know that they were wearing multicam, and had a bolt-action sniper platform, half my unit ducked south to track you guys, and the other half that i was in was trying to figure out where these guys were going until we realized that we were out of bounds so thats when I called a cease fire and started hollering up to the guy that he was out of bounds, and he hollared back that if he was then we were, and we agreed on a cease fire until back in bounds, then he went one way and my team went the other, i have no idea where he went. maybe he was a ghost or hallucination or something... i did face plant into some shrooms earlier that day... lol

I was one of the 2 guys in multicam, and I was carrying the bolt. When you started yelling at the other guy, the group I was in was about 50 yards south in the forest. Like I said, according to our maps, we were in bounds the whole way. I think the OB line was right along that vineyard that was right there.

The person you yelled at had no connection to the group I was with.

Like I said before, Bill had told me that some groups were able to maneuver in OB areas. I wouldn't get too wrapped up in it.I can say when the Axis got a foot hold in the Castle I was a nats a$$ from ordering a withdrawl to our airbase. When I saw the push stop and no other advancements were happening I figured all the NATO assessets were secure, but it was close.

If you're going to go to war against a major enemy, go; knock the hell out of him fast, and go in there to kill him and get it over with.

The red line was the operational AO but by no means the boundary for OB. The only out of bounds area was the hoppes field, which was clearly observed.

Thanks guys!

yeah, i'm not worried about it. it didn't hinder gameplay, and it gave me and the 13th a fun objective (go get 'em!) but it's still kinda wierd. like i said, maybe 'twas a ghost or somethin lol. a past airsofter that died gloriously in a hail storm of plastic!! lol.
