Just because I thought it was epic: I saw a guy running around with a grenade launcher attached to a pistol.

I have the same feelings. This was my first event and I’m glad it was. It was fun traversing from tree to tree for cover. And I thought the forts on the hill were amazing.
Thank you!

Great game today. I'm sore, exhausted, and very damp. Gear is hanging up to dry, guns are leaning on the wall to air out, and gun cases are de-watering.

All in all, today was a good day. Mini-Marine, you made a great target!

Great time, no complaints. Start signal was a little janky, but such is the nature of the world and we didn't let it slow us down. Stupid rain.

Yeah it seems everyone does it. Either yelling or even sometimes air horns are not going to confirm both sides are ready to start.

It's like a UFC match. The ref has to point to each person one at a time and say "ready" and have them nod before falcon punches the air and says "Let's get it on!"

The game was a blast, super sticky and sloppy coming up the Axis hill to respawn. I was sad to see that may of our teammates left the field for the day after the weather took a poo on us. Big props to SOTA for coming up the hill/ through the (lets be honest here) lake, and creating mass confusion at the Axis spawn. I do agree with Darius tho, it would have been nice if we could have moved him based on what the shape of things was at that time. Next time we play there, I agree that it should be on a much drier day where we can have a more effective CASEVAC up the hill.

I, however, am going to go sit in a hot bath, drink and few bottles of wine and have my girlfriend rub me down.

That was a great game, I'm very glad I went. The mud and water was, of course...very extreme. I do not look forward to cleaning all of my stuff so extensively as is necessary...but oh well.

TOP, I want to thank you for being an outstanding commander today. It takes a lot of patience to stay in the back like that and just direct people, I'm sure. Patience aside, you handled everything with clear skill and experience. You treated everybody with respect and had a great attitude. My utmost respect to you.

Ash, thanks for letting me roll with you and giving me orders and direction. You made my day out there that much more fun. You did a great job with your position. It seemed like you were really working to keep as full an awareness as you could, and then act accordingly. Way to lead from the front.

PAC and Jester, thanks for letting me roll with you here and there. It was very, very nice to have a group to stick to, even if I wasn't around all that much. You're good people.

Ivan, thanks for letting me borrow your battery! You're a good guy. I bet you regretted it after it enabled me to shoot you earlier on in the day.

NATO: I'm really impressed with the effort I saw out there. That was a hell of a game, and you guys kicked the crap out of some Russian scum.

New Axis: It seemed to me like you guys just got the short end of the stick in several critical situations. You guys pushed really hard at us around the CP and got really close to taking some important ground...there just wasn't quite that extra squad at the right time, etc. You played with heart and effort...thanks for coming out and giving us some Opfor.

I thought the organization was pretty good. My main complaint is that the respawn rules were not very clear at the beginning, and a lot of people didn't know what was going on. I thought more briefing/instruction could help improve a lot of the rough points like respawns. At the same time, we needed to get the game going, and despite the darnest efforts of the Admin to get the game rolling on time, people show up late. The admins were very professional and always able to answer my questions. I will be attending more BSP events, without question.

A note on the complaints about hacking: You guys need to remember that we were playing in the rain and mud. It gets very difficult to know if you were hit or not with large raindrops falling on you. I saw an instance or two on both sides of hits not being called, but I truly believe it was unintentional. I was frustrated a time or two when I was sure I'd shot a guy and he didn't call out...but I always try to default on the assumption that I didn't hit him. I don't think it was that bad. And I sincerely apologize if I didn't call a hit at any point. I was very confused a time or two from some of those big drops of rain.

All in all I had a great time out there and I think I picked a great match to come back to airsoft. My gun was in the toilet most of the game. It didn't work...then it did work but was shooting horribly and sounded horrific....and still I had a great day. The community is great. Great field, too. I look forward to summer and spring games at the same place! A resounding thank you to BSP for putting this on (special mention: Riddick, Seagreen). I got 4 hours of sleep last night, before this event.... I'll be sleeping well tonight :D

Edit: added a thing or two.

I had a great time with everyone! It was a great game to get to try out the new Mk46 :D I'm broken for 2 solid days now, but it was soooo worth it.

BSP: Yet another fantastic game. While some elements were missing or omitted, but those were outside your control and due largely to the unfortunate climate of our region. I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys can cook up with more cooperative weather on your side. The comm arrays are beautiful. I love objectives that require thought and time to establish.

The game start, while it could have been orchestrated better, was specifically spelled out by Bill during briefing, when he said we would be game on at exactly 10:15. While we did have some forces start in our CP, the overwhelming majority of us were at the PANG with our dicks in our hands at 10:15. It wasn't until TOP contacted me with a "Where the hell are you guys" transmission that we got the memo. So both teams started a bit late in that respect.

The spawn rules and CCP rules should have been elaborated on more during the briefing, especially considering the fact that the transport unit was disabled for half of the game. It was made very clear to the NATO forces that we had to walk back to the PANG before rendezvousing in the CP with TOP to record our deaths. However, I saw many times that Axis forces were spawning at CCP points, which was not supposed to be happening. That said, I fault the lack of communication, or mis-communication, as the cause of this more than I fault unsportsmanlike behavior.

Regarding the sportsmanship: In general, it was good today. However, there were clear and distinct incidents that are worthy of mention. First off, I was attached to five others in a hard flank maneuver around the Axis CP. Per several maps and two GPS units, we did not see ourselves as out of bounds. However, shouting, "You're bleeding out of bounds!" many times while you yourself are in the exact same area is dumb. There is a command net for a reason. If you think someone is out of bounds, call an admin and have them address the situation.

Also, cat calling from across a ravine with shit like, "Come just five meters closer and I'll have range on your a$$ you NATO pigs!" while all well and fine and in good spirit, serves no other purpose than to make your position incredibly well-known to an otherwise oblivious OPFOR. Had you said nothing, laid in your bush, and radioed our position to your commander I would have thought nothing of that ridge line. Instead, you gave me an incentive to cross it. Which I did successfully immediately thereafter.

When the three-man SF team and my QRF attachment of two PSC guys and myself made it to the Axis CP, we were met by ~25 OPFOR, which we engaged. To my knowledge, we were able to eliminate a very substantial number of you. However, the primary reason we failed our objective of eliminating Dan was because the OPFOR in the CP "respawned" themselves instantly and proceeded to re-engage us. As I said before, the respawn rules could have been clearer, but what should be clear is that it's completely dishonorable to respawn instantly in place. That's one of those situations where if you are unclear what do to, it's best to just put your death rag on, move out of the line of fire, and contact an admin accordingly, if necessary. If you had sent an SF team into our CP and wiped out most of us, only to have us respawn a moment later and kill you, you would be incredibly irritated, because that kind of shit is never okay.

TOP, it was a pleasure being commanded by you. At all times your orders were clear and concise, and you took every step possible to ensure that we got our objectives completed promptly. SOTA, I'm sorry I didn't get to shoot with you guys today as much as I would have liked. My 4-man QRF attack led me on an exciting and physically devastating two hour journey across three rivers, at times nearly waist deep. My balls literally hit ice water. That said, it is always an honor to shoot together with the great gentlemen from PSC, who made up that QRF team. You guys are hard, fast, and have very solid tactical abilities.

To everyone that came out and made the most out of the weather, who gave this game your 110%, and who nutted up and played through to the end with honor, you have my sincere thanks. Thank you for making this a kick-ass game. To everyone who left early, you unfortunately missed out on some fantastic shit.

With regards,

Bad Karma
