Proposed vehicle rules for AP

Discuss anything and everything here that's Airsoft related.

For what its worth (not much) inside of the APC it sounds like plastic rain, there are so many bbs hitting it. I'm gonna have to repaint it because its getting sand (plastic) blasted

I like that idea. Maybe longer than 15 seconds, but that they can get back to shooting after a few minutes. All the while another person can take their place if another was around. This would allow the vehicle to be a target, but still be something you want to avoid. It makes up for the gunner's lack of speed but doesn't make him God.

I always saw a vehicle in airsoft as nothing more than used for cover/gunning position for protecting a key area and for moving into an area faster than just on foot. But having them out in the field would be great.

if anything for mounted gunners it should be required that they CAN get hit and only 1 per vehicle, also troop carriers (flatbed trucks and the like) can only have one gunner and he must be in the passenger seat, also your gonna have to be alright with your ride getting shot at. otherwise if your without a gunner then just rockets and the like can be employed to disable your transport and any tropps that are dismounting cannot use the vehicle as mobile cover unless it have been approved by the owner and once all troops have left then the vehicle must exfil and leave the fire fight.

I'm gunna say this once and for all, a vehicle in the field of play is a vehicle that can and will be shot . I think its complete counter-mislim to have vehicles on the field that can't be shot at... (no vehicles whose owners yell at everyone in briefing "don't shoot at the red Ferrari!", you get the idea)

Another important one came to mind.
Vehicle(s) shall not be operated by anyone not given permission by the owner of that vehicle. Vehicles shall not be operated by anyone not qualified to operate that vehicle (license or atv card)

This is a huge liability issue, boring but important.

McNair, he does make a good point though. If you aren't willing to have your vehicle shot at don't use it in the game. If you are willing to have your vehicle shot at, then feel free to use it.

I agree......I was amazed that at EOL the guy with the black Hummer was cool with it being shot at

This is how I've always felt about it. You don't use your nice car in game. You use the truck or something that you don't care if it gets dented by BBs. If you don't own a car you don't want to get dented, then you don't use a car in the game. Now if a person does deliberate and needless damage to your car (rocks etc) then it's a whole other matter that should be addressed somewhere. I want these rules to be like an owners manual for a chainsaw. "dont' touch blades while running" kinda thing. So everyone is 100% clear on what's going on.

I don't think any people other than Matt and Beran were at OPGSIII. But the majority of vehicles in play, people din't want to get shot. The game worked fine as was. Nic was even out in his VW w/ a gunner out the sunroof. I don't remember anyone complaining about not being able to shoot the vehicles.

The point being. It happens. Obviously it's not going to be common for people to afford to bring an extra vehicle. So, be realistic.

Good, it lowers the amount of vehicles on the field...

Nobody is complaining about their vehicles being shot. For some reason I feel like I've said this before, yet every time we have a thread like this a bunch of people say that same line "if you don't want your vehicle to get shot, don't use it." That's a given. We know. Thanks.

I hate civilian trucks on the field. Hummer H3s, your mom's SUV, your nice shiny Toyota. It just feels like "road hunting" to me, like you are sitting there hunting deer with a beer in one hand and a gun in the other. It doesn't provide that cool extra dimension of gameplay, it's just being lazy, pure and simple. I'd like to see more vehicles that at least TRY to look like military vehicles.

Maybe we just need more heavily armored vehicles so that the gunners are harder to hit.
