Looking to help set up a WW2 game

Postby Fred » Wed Oct 14, 2009 3:20 pm

Looking to help set up a WW2 game, I am not great at hosting games (no one listens to me)

But I want to see if there is enough interest in getting a re-enactment/ historical operation going here in Oregon.

So who's interested.

FWIW, I will STRICTLY BAN ANY GEAR THAT DOES NOT FIT THE THEME!.
IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING THAT IS NOT WW2 BUT CAN MAKE IT APPEAR WORTHY OF IT, THAT IS FINE.

he never asked to borrow a gun...

I'd love a WW2 game, I haven't been to all the local fields but I think C-Tac's field in St.Paul would be good.

But if you do organize one I would suggest giving a huge heads up so people can have time to get the appropriate kit together.

I can be ready to roll out as a Brit Para in a moment's notice!
Here's me in Combat Order at JTD09, combination airsoft/ blankfire event. This was taken during Saturday's training sessions, hence no eye pro or magazine in the replica.

Technically, the M1A1 Thompson isn't technically accurate, but it was used by the British so most WW2 airsoft events let it slide ;)

There's a buhjillion threads in here regarding WW2 airsoft and why most people don't do it, or that they would if there were events, etc etc. There's plenty of crossover reenactors/ airsofters in the PNW who would attend if the events are quality .

The only issue here is the gear, the guns, and the money...

I always though these events looked cool, its just the money.

The British had plenty of US made weapons in WW2. They even had 1911s chambered in a modified .455 Webley round made for the RAF.

Lend Lease act, remember? :)

Or were you referring to the variant?

John,
British infantry did in early war.

There were rare occurrences where British paras carried US weapons such as the Thompson(m1928 most common in early war, I've only seen one picture of one with a M1A1), M1 Carbine, M1911, etc.
